First real long drive in my civic and what a delight
Just travelled to Newcastle and back from Bournemouth which is around 350 miles each way.
I have to say the Civic was so comfortable and effortless to drive. Even after 5hrs of driving i was not aching or anything. The seats in the type S are just so comfortable. The only thing that let it down was the mpg which was ok but not what i hoped for. I didnt speed. Hung around 70-75 mostly on cruise and i averaged 50mpg. |

I averaged 44.1 in my 1.8 @ 77-80 mph indicated (73- 76 mph actual) over a 420 mile trip, 43.2 mpg over the total 840 mile round trip and also found the car very smooth and comfortable.

Just did Lancaster to London today (220miles) in my Type S 2.2 GT today and agree it's very comfortable, both in terms of seats and drive. I averaged only 41.6mpg, so piss poor for a modern diesel in my opinion.

Did you use the cruise control, whenever possible, even on B roads stew.
Its a habit with me now, but I do turn it off, when climbing hills. |

If your car's pretty new also,I would say you can expect an improvement on your 41.6 |
