Smile View from the rear seats

Was raining heavily last night,so my partner's daughter kindly offered to drive us into town(approx 20 minutes to walk).Hence for the first time ended up in the rear seat of my own car.

Impressions were, plenty of leg and head room,a comfy seat and a firm but very smooth ride.Interestingly, the 'B' pillars looked massive and stairing out of the window reminded me a little of,well, a porthole

Also,as we about to be dropped off,her sister in the front passenger seat commented she thought this car was 'compact and bijou'-I think she fell victim to the not returning position front seat as I then noticed she did look a little hunched up.Oh well, have to admit, that is a slightly surprising anomoly with what otherwise has,so far been one pretty impressive motor

This is where the glass roof helps making it feel more spacious and light.

I agree, you're right!(for the back seat passengers) Had the glass roof with my ES.Thing is,from the driver's seat, unless I looked up to check,I would never know whether the blinds were open or shut.

As I rarely carry passengers,I do prefer the steel roof with the extra headroom and less potential for rattles(my ES did have a very few travelling over poor road surfaces).

The non memorising seats are a pain and the 'Achilles heel' on the 3 door IMO.
God knows why Honda couldnt produce memory seats??

Yes me and my other half have noticed just how much room you have in the back, he thought it was going to be far too small, but its quite deceptive. Much, much more than any other car i've been in

The previous Civic 3dr model to that also had non memory seats
But every Ford, Peugeot and Citroen 3dr car I have owned stretching back to a Mk1 Fiesta has had them as far as I remember.

I think the glass roof is essential on the Type S. My wife thinks it is a lot less claustrophobic in the back with the blind open.

The new focus doesn't have memory seats, so we're just the same........just people tend to pick up on it now because of a certain person complaining about it

I was very suprised when my previous Civic didn't have memory seats! I used to make everyone get in the passenger door as didn't wanna lose my position!

Funny thing was - I asked the dealer if they had fixed the "memory seat problem" ... and he said they HAD!!! B@stard!

haha - yeh you're right - isn't the rear window supposed to clear itself?!?! All that happens with mine is the water from the roof runs down it and makes it worse!

I find the glass is fine, its the we plastic bit at the bottom that attracts the dirt that I can't see out of when dirty apart from that, no complaints about the back window. Although I do remember saying to my Mum I couldn't have a convertible because I couldn't live without a back wiper and then I bought a Civic lol!

Funny my Dad wondered how they couldn't fit a wiper, coming from a bloke who's not had a rear wiper on a car since I was 5!
