From the position of the buttons it looks like it will house the civic key. Its very tempting to go for it. Damn Robbie for introducing me to the Bentley key.

I will post the existing honda key off to China and wait to see what he can do with it before settling for this one. If anybody does go for this one, let us know how you get on with it.

From the same seller:
HONDA SWITCHBLADE REMOTE KEY CONVERSION CASE 2 BUTTON on eBay, also, Honda, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 20-Jan-08 03:39:54 GMT)

Has a picture of the original key it replaces, looks like it's going to work.

I did mention to my client with his two Bentleys, about borrowing one of his keys, but he gave me a polite NO.
Can't blame him really, till the novelty wears off, they are his latest toys.

Yes, please do.
I voted no, but think I may well change my mind.
I aways keep my key in my trouser pocket and this Honda one can be very painful.

after looking at it, i dont think the key will flick out at the press of a butto like the vw ones. it seams alot of money considering what it is and where its coming from. will be nice to see what the people think who have bought one. also how or where and even how much to get the key cut? now these are out there will be loads on ebay now, just keep alook out.

I received the honda key I bought off ebay today, opened it up to compare it to the insides of my friends civic key. Although they were identical on the outside, they were different on the inside. On the civic key there was no obvious immobiliser chip. Is it possible that the immobiliser is part of the alarm system and therefore doesn't have one in the key? The key I got off ebay must be off a Jazz or something similar, this one quite clearly had a immobiliser chip sitting in it!

If there is no chip in the civic key then that makes the job even easier.

My mates spare key has now been donated to the cause and is off to China tomorrow and will hopefully come back as the first Bentley style Honda key.

Hopefully this time next week I should have my civic .

Hi XCGuard.
The immobiliser chip is inside the key fob electronics if you open it, it´s on the "controller card". /RogS
