Personally I'm not keen about Honda making some kind of VAG replica flip key. Let them have them. Another key yes, just not that. Honda's engineers are more than capable to come up with an innovative key/card/ fingerprint/voice access or whatever for themselves. That's just a piece of cake for a hi-tec world wide trademark like Honda.

Thought it was a bit wierd I couldn't see one. Should look with my eyes open in future.

Thanks.

xcguard, does the key part flick out at the press of a button? the seller says it does, can you confirm this? i would be interested in a bentley type key fob, are they any prices on these at the moment? so the one off ebay wont fit our civic keyfobs? could you not cut out abit inside to make it fit or is there no room to do this?

keep us all posted as im sure they will be a good seller!!

That one off ebay should fit the civic fob, going by the picture of the original honda key on one of the ebay links above. It should also flick at the press of a button, but you are better off asking the seller.

The Bentley key will be priced around £10 when they become available. Probably around 6 weeks time. Cheaper than ebay key and far better looking in my opinion.

A couple of people have ordered the ebay one, it might be worth waiting to see what their opinion is of it before others order.

I'm a bit concerned with the one on ebay whether the key shaft is up to the job. I wouldn't want it snapping off in the ignition switch!!

I will have approx 500 of them, so i expect everybody to buy 3 or 4 each atleast.
£10 is what the maximum price will be, it could be lower, but I will know for definate in about 4 weeks.

Naasir.

PS. Key has been posted and is on its way. Went to the post office with £20 in my hand wondering if that would be enough, "£5.24" the lady says. I told her I dont think she heard me correctly, its going to China. Yep, that was the correct price. Absolute bargain.

DHL wanted upwards of £50 to get it there a couple of days quicker. Pricing policy must be similar to Honda's.

Can´t really compare the service of the post office and a company like DHL. Possibility of track the sent item is totally different.

Did I forget to mention that optional extra? Its a dealer fit option, take your flip key to your dealer and for a bargain price of £999 they will stick on some quality plastic jewels. If you haggle, they might throw in a free bottle of tyre inflation foam.

Fair point. I suppose you get what you pay for as with most things.
