Back end noise

When my S Type gt (10 months old) has been sitting in the driveway over night when I reverse out I can hear a knocking noise for 1/2 secs!!

Any ideas?

When I reverse off my drive I get a creaking from the rear, which continues briefly when I go forward. Sounds like suspension bushes to me.
The dealer says it is the design of the rear disc/calipers, (the pads catch on the fine film of rust on the disc) and nothing can be done!
Poor excuse I think, my previous version Civic didn't have any problem.

Have had same problem with mine over the last few months think its getting worse or might be just me but you dont expect to pay £20.000 and have stupid noises honda dealer said they cant see anything wrong
Its due 12.000 service next week will see if anything is more noticeible now will let you know what they say.

Mine did that every day as I pulled off my drive (4 to 5 knocks) it disappeared briefly after having a new shock fitted but came back.

Another reason why I didnt sell privately - couldnt risk it on a test drive.

mines doing it also and the dealer said they are all doing it and there is no fix. not very happy, does **** know why they are doing this? does it did some home made damping to shut them up??

Evey time the car has been in the dealers, I have mentioned this and every time they say they can't find anything - except for the last visit, when the told me it's a caracteristic

My car has lots of 'caracteristics', like the stuttering engine, creaking wipers, rattling dash.......

Same here,went into dealers they "refitted" the rear suspension properly,and hey presto, no more noise, they also realigned the exaust.

thank god! i thought mine was the only one, this is the most worrying sound i hear each morning i reverse out of the drive, i ***** it was the suspension springs being cold in the morning, im glad others are experiencing the same...even though its not a pleasant thing.. atleast honda will have a fair few complaints if it progressively worsens, but i am thankful to know i am not alone in the squeaky rear-suspension/brake disc noise.. And good thing it only happens when you first set off driving. i would like to say, as expressed above, after paying 16k+ for our civics, you would expect, a car less than 1 year old to be pretty perfect, and ive already had a fair few complaints... my radiator went completely the other week, constant wiper squeaks at high speed when its raining, and dash board rattle and creaks when the music isnt on. Atleast it drives well! and looks great!
