2: Yeah, had this on my Focus, that's nice 3: Yep 4 & 5: Only if it's free 6: YES! 7: Could be bettter indeed 8: Yep 9: Yes, and get rid of the button on the boot itself, much safer. A button on the dash would be needed than aswell 10: Don't have a sunroof, don't care 11: Never sit in the back, don't care 12: It isn't noisy to my ears 13: I'm happy with the key as it is. A flipkey would be bigger so less comfortable to put in a pocket 14: Please not! 15: Don't know, don't have an alarm. I would like 16: Rear wiper 17: Heated windscreen 18: Standard spare wheel 19: Low washer fluid warning 20: Start button is useless, get rid of it and lower the price 21: A DSG shift on the Diesel! 22: Better headunit and possibly better antenna. I've got decent speakers but I can hear the headunit quality is average. 23: Scroll function on the headunit to show complete folder/song tags for MP3's 24: Pause CD 25: Mute radio (or is it there and didn't read the manual good enough?) |

Add these to the list:
26: (decent) iPod connection as standard. 27: Lockable glove box. 28: Decent quality dual zone climate control that works. 29: Computer that states when and which bulb has blown. 30: The fuel-cap release in a better place! |

31) Improve the door handle quality
32) Remove central divider from panoramic roof and have single (large) blind -make the most of the roof! (There's a thread on here somewhere posted by a honda engineer that details why it as it is at the moment) 33) Better standard gearknob 34) driver control of electric windows should always work (cut of swicth locks the driver controls as well!) 35) Colour coding as standard 36) Heated rear seats 37) Dont bow to pressure to fit a rear wiper |

re 30: How many times have I popped the bonnet in a petrol stn (worrying that the bonnet release clip is more accessible than the fuel filler... Which one do Honda expect you to use most) |

LOL! I've done this a few times. It would make more sense to have it similar to an electric window switch somewhere on the drivers door, like on my old Golf.

Does no one else find the door lock control in an awquard (?) place?????? Also agree with the fuel filler cap release. I also like the idea of the bulb blown computer (with all the gizmo's and computer bits we have it should be simple to add that).

The handbook says to check the oil when you fill up (perhaps they should combine the switch)!!! I am just thinking of the polite response I will receive from all the people behind when I say I am waiting the 5 mins for the oil to settle before I move away from the pump!!!! |

LOL! If Honda want you to check the oil so often, why don't they improve the way you do this by having some sort of computer-measured oil level indicator or some other method rather than an awkward-to-do-everytime-you-fill-up dipstick routine?

I have had a level warning come on on the trip computer after hard driving, but check it every now and again (every time I fill up if Honda warranty are reading) as I don't think relying on that would negate you if it ran low and blew the engine. The handbook in my Renault said the same. |

The driver's electric window does still work when the cut-off switch is pressed (at least it does in my 2.2), but only the driver's window. It would indeed be nice if you could use the others as well.

Another idea though! In Saabs, they have a night mode button that kills all bar the most important driver information - i.e. speed. That would be a good thing to have in the Civic! |

Good idea - I am forever adjusting the brightness of the display. Another idea is a light sensor so the display could dim at night when you are out of street lit areas |

Wow
So let me get this right. We want all these extras. We don't want to pay anymore for them. If they added them now, most of us couldn't afford to PX ours for a new higher spec one anyway so only new buyers woudl benefit. But many (not all) on this site complain that the Civic is too cheaply built with too much cost cutting which is how Honda manage to sell the spaceship with all the toys we already have at the exceptional price we currently pay. I prefer TC's idea on another thread. Leave off the toys and let those who want them pay for them as extras. Bring back 'keep fit windows'. And Sporran - you must walk around in a suit of armour if you can bend a Civic Key by putting it in you pocket. It's a 3mm thick piece of hardened steel. I'm 'suit'ably impressed. |

The only things I would like are a proper ipod connection, better quality interior plastics, puddle lights on the doors is nice, and a more sensible place for the fuel cap release. Better fuel economy would be good too.
Hate auto wipers- they never work right! Much prefer the variable intermittent. Don't need auto lights- I can see when it gets dark! Maybe full colour coding would be good as well. |
