Well we are picking up 2 Type S GT's on March 1st. Ordered in 1st week on Jan, were with dealer before end of Jan. A lot quicker than we expected!

Getting mine on 1st March

Could have had it in January but couldn't get rid of Company Car until March so thought it best to wait.

I got mine yesterday - had the option of waiting for an '08 plate but it's of no interest to me, would rather have the car a month earlier

Getting mine on 1 March also. Wish I'd waited until after Clarkson's latest though - might have been able to push the dealer a bit lower on the price with the negative publicity

I would still buy the CTR again even after Clarksons review. It is a brilliant car and I am extremely happy with it.

It is unfortunate that Clarksons widely published adverse views will inevitably affect sales and resale values.

I don't think Clarkson's review will affect the interest and resale values of the car too much, look at the focus RS he hated that everybody else loved it and it is the same with the type R, how come all the other magazines are raving about it still, people that are really interested in cars, don't just take one mans word for it that a car is rubbish.

Clarkson is getting OLD.

The Type R is a young mans car.

Hi CP794

They seem quite prompt at the Moment ! I have three brand new unregistered ones in stock but the last time I had any interest in the FN2 was around Dec time ( honest !! )

All I am getting is several enquiries about the Old Type R . Its nuts !!

Neil

Are we not missing something else? As soon as the economy starts to turn slightly downhill, the first things to cross off the list are the slightly extravagant thirsty lairy red toys. If you really want one, then maybe it's more financially prudent to get an older cheaper used model.

Just a thought.

Clarkson also slated the 350z, I bought one of those too and I am sure many people on here would also like to own one. It didn't hurt the value of that car, even with the many cut price imports available.

Hell, I jacked the other forum for all this waffle and it seems like its a brewing just as bad here. If people are so insecure about their car or future car purchase and have to have it verified by some guy on TV then I despair at what we are all turning into.

Shocking!

I love Top Gear though but watch it for what it is, a very entertaining show but I wouldn't base my car purchase on it or even on reviews in magazines (although I enjoy watching and reading both). I would take the car for a test drive (a long one if possible) and gage it against other cars I have driven. Isn't that what we all should be doing? After all, I am sure £20k is a LOT of money for most of us and not an amount easily recovered.

Sorry, time to change the record.
