During aheavy shower on the M25 I wound down my window to remove a plastic bag that was wrapped around my mirror... and was astonished at the amount of water that ran off the roof and straight inside and over the door switches!

As an ex-smoker myself I can imagine how much rain would enter the car during yer typical ciggie session, but I think it runs in from above rather than driven in by the wind.

Sympathise with you as a partial smoker myself. I'm partial as I was determined not to smoke inside the civic once I received it no matter how long the drive. Now i'm up to a sucking a fisherman's friend (The toffee thing made in Fleetwood, before I get any comments ) every 10 - 15 miles.

Not a smoker me, no, but I keep my car in a parking garage that's entered by wiping a keycard in a reader. Have to open the window for that. So I'll get soaked if I do it when it's raining? Well... I'll keep that in mind.

There's a similar problem if you open the door after (or during) rain. The water piles straight in and onto the seat. I guess its because the sides of the car are angled so much above the waist.
