The horn might not be agressive, but I bet your gestations alongside it usually are!

I think you may have meant gesticulations?

gestation - Wiktionary

gesticulation - Wiktionary

I am not too sure about agressive gestations....

This is the one I was refering to:

2. The act of carrying young in the womb from conception to delivery; pregnancy.

"I only drink twice a day.
Once when I'm thirsty,
And once when I'm not!"

.....and of course, waving your hands about as well!

I get some amusement if I'm 3 cars back at a set of red lights when they turn green and the person at the front is twidling with their radio or something and don't pull away. If you give a good long blast on your horn they assume its the car behind them often turning round giving them dirty looks and the people in that car are desperately gesticulating "it wasn't me guv".

I know simple things amuse simple minds!
Be better with some a louder horn though.

On my daily commute to work I drive on a very narrow single track road with a totally blind bend, its on a steep hill too which doesn't help. There is a house right on the bend and they have errected a large sign saying "NO HORNS" and a picture of a crossed out horn.

You don't need the horn at night as you can clearly see the headlights of oncoming vehicles (providing they are not just using sidelights but thats a differnt discussion) but surely they can't expect drivers to keep quiet and risk an accident just so they dont miss the lottery numbers been called

Technically that sign is illegal, as it is encouraging motorists to endanger themselves and others by following incorrect procedure. Such as the often seen 20mph please roadsigns erected in villages, totally uninforcable and possibly could be a point on contestation should an accident occur.

TBH, I'd sound mine just to annoy them, tough s*it on their part, sorry if that sounds harsh, but safety comes first, every time.
