Who is MAKING a flip key for other people?

Looking to unscramble the thread a bit

PLEASE only reply to this if you are willing to:
Have a forum member send you a key, which you will then take to bits and put into a 'flip key' case (supplied by whoever), and return it to them (at a price obviously!)

If this means you, please post up:
how much you will be charging per key (inc postage);
if the owner needs to supply the flip key case (if so which one(s) can you do it with), or if you can source them (again at what cost?);
if the owner should remove the metal part of the key before sending;
roughly how long it will take

and anything else that you can think of!

please do NOT reply to this thread with "yes, I want one!"

Good idea TT,

I offer a free service:
- I desolder the transponder
- I reconnect the transmonder to the board using wires

The rest is an easy DIY job.

So the only stuff I need is the key internal button part.
But... I live in Belgium

I can do for a limited few either:

Just the remote - Desolder and extend transponder or
you supply the fob with key cut (or cut it later) and I will fit the insides for you.

But I think the extending the transponder option is the safest for you then all you need to do is dremmel the case and drop in the remote... ta da job jobbed

If you want just the transponder doing then pop it in an envelope with your address and a crispy ten pound note and PM me for Address
or
to be fair I will match Gray52's offer below.

P.S. If you want the full monty done then please contact Gray52 first, If he's too busy then I will do it but as I said I'm only going to do this to help out.

HUGE thanks all

I'll leave this thread open for more details as and when, but we now have somewhere where other owners can come to to decide which option suits them (and just as importantly, you!)

thanks again

due to the number of posts in this thread which have been along the lines of 'me too', despite the request NOT to post those replies here, this thread is now locked.

If any of the 3 people who have kindly offerred their services wish to add extra detail, or indeed if anyone else wants to volunteer to make these keys for other people, please PM myself or one of the others in the moderator team, and we will briefly unlock it

many thanks

I've had the following PM from Terry

So can you open the thread and put the following:

I decided I wanted a flip key, so I have followed the threads and must thank those who have done the hard work of developing a solution.
Mine works fine, although the hardest part was getting Timpsons to cut the key correctly (2 visits needed) then smoothing off the rough edges to get it to work correctly.
As I am good with a soldering iron I thought I would offer my services, and to save time I bought 10 extra flip keys from Alex, the seller in Hong Kong.
Price is much the same as others offering the service:
You send me your key (or just the electronic module), I do the modification and fit it to a flip key but no key cutting, and return it by next day Special Delivery (Cover for up to £500): Cost £30 in advance.
As above but I get the key cut: Cost £36 in advance.
Unfortunately I can only get to Timpsons on a Saturday, and I would prefer not to get the key cut as it would be difficult if the key did not work in your car, and I have no way of testing it.

PM me for further details.

Terry
