Aren't sports cars good?

After a day of driving my sisters 307 around, I got back into my Civic today and the difference was amazing, its not the mechanics of the car (which are superb) but somethng much more subtle, its how you can feel the car interacting with the road. It's difficult to describe, it makes driving a much more involving experience, rather than getting from a-b. I also went past 5,000 miles today!

If I was a poet, I could right a poem about it. But I'm not. So won't.

The Type S is a brilliant 'B' road drivers' car.A sports car typically would be a 2 seater.A sports hatchback? No doubt about that in my mind

Depends on how you view a sports car ialways something with a folding roof and two seats. My Grandad calls my Type R a sports car as well as my Dad's M3 and they are totally different but he sees them as looking sporty!

Its a Mk2 MR2 in Carribean Blue - sits nicely between the rust bucket MK1 and the frog eyed MK3. Saying that i wouldn't slag any of the other MR2s when they are tuned. I know guys who have dropped supercharged V6's into both Mk1s and Mk2's and turbo'd the Mk3 and they really shift. Talking sub 5sec 0-60 and scary top speed!

i've had the Mr2 three years and it only broke down once - the gear shift cable came off! rac man fixed that in 5mins.

can't wait until Friday until i can pick up my new toy tho

The civic isn't an obvious sports car in traditional terms but I don't think you can call it a sedate family hatch either. All my friends ask me "how is my sports car?" I think the car is perceived as being sporty and therefore, for some, classed as a 'sports car'. I am not complaining though!

Personally I love the feel of the drive of the civic, I love the hold it has to the road and how it seemingly hugs corners without any hassle. It's the only car I have had including some of the 'luxury brands' that have made me smile when I drive - people must think I am a looney!

For me, anything that 0-60's in 10 seconds is rapid, and can be classed as a sports car!

If it isn't...why don't you go and buy a 1.3 fiesta?

Unfortunatley there are quite a few cars that go 0-60 in less than 10 seconds including the 2.0l 3 door 307!

10seconds??? dude your standards are way low!! a true sports car should have 0-60 time in the 6s region and lower.

My MX5 is a sportscar, my Civic isn't even close.

If you want to really feel the road you need something like a Elise, VX220 or Caterham. My MX5 is a good compromise between a hardcore sportscar and a car you can drive everyday.

Yes, I agree 6secs is a true sports car, but can you use that on the UK roads? If I had a car like that I would keep it for the track.

10 secs is fine for me travelling around, with a bit extra should I need to dart for spaces.

Ahem, anyway. Aren't (reasonably quick) cars brilliant!
