Hmmmmmmmmmmmm if were talking about the price of a TVR tuscan etc.....A Z4M Coupe! 2 seats and looks amazing!!! Not a fan of convertibles so I would have that! In fact i've convinced my mate that he wants to get the Z4 Coupe cause its much nicer....He agrees, now just need to convince him he wants to get the 2.2 Civic as his next company car
Just the Lotus Elise - but much better much to Lotus's disgust! |

I test drove MX5 a number times,
just over 6 years ago when i decided to buy a convertible, my short list was the MR2 roadster, MX5 and VX220 (it was the 2.2i if it had been the 1.8 turbo this would have been my choice) The MX5 was so boring and under powered compared to the MR2 roadster, i kept the MR2 for 3 years, it was almost as much fun to drive as the Type R Then just over 3 years ago i test drove one again when buying my RX8, it was still as depressing to drive as i remembered, Now the RX8 that was what you would call a sports car |

As for performance it's not all about 0-60, give me a B road and I'll leave most cars this side of a Porsche Boxster for dead. Incidentally, the 2.0 sport MX5 has been 0-60 tested independently by 2 magazines both were sub seven seconds. |

Also didn't help the car from the dealers belonged to the owners son who had it like a tip! and I took it out on the Edinburgh City By-Pass at the weekend and didn't get to really open it up! Eash to their own! You wouldn't catch me in a MX-5 I've never liked the things! |

I do remember the year after buying my MR2 that Vauxhall changed the engine to a turbo engine that was supposed to be a lot better. The Mazda 5 people carrier would probably be as much fun as the MX5 Last edited by SHADEMASTER; 28th March 2008 at 20:20. |

As they say though each to their own, I drove the Type R and liked it. It would have been a good compromise if I couldn't have had a lightweight roadster, but if I had to choose a drivers car which suited my style of driving the MX5 would be my choice. |
