Have you seen your ex lately ?
I suppose it had to happen <sigh>.
I traded in my 52 plate vivid blue Accord for my new NHB 1.8 ES Civic mid January and was offered a pathetic sum for the Accord which was coming up to 50,000 miles and 5 years old with a few scratches on the back bumper. Although I pushed them on the trade in price, what I got had to be far less than it was worth on a private sale, but it was the price difference that the decision was based on... Anyway... today I saw a beautiful blue Accord pass across in front of me at a set of lights, I scanned the numberplate and it was HER, looking magnificent. Gleaming, she was, and gliding along effortlessly. I could almost see her 'flick' her 'hair' distainfully at me. It made me remember days of my youth, whenever I saw an ex girlfriend out and about after a break up she always looked a lot better than she used to. Like she was doing it deliberately ! Pangs in the heart, I must say. But the head managed to get its way, the Civic is brand new, it is a lot smaller outside, almost as big inside. It is a fantastic car with all the toys and more than the Accord had... and I will come to love it just as much I am sure... but.. but... it seems that for now, the heart still has a little place for the ex. Time will heal, I am sure. Like it always does. Anyone else seen their ex lately ? How did you feel ? |

Two Pea's In A Pod,--- ST,
Been there and know exactly how you feel. A law should be passed, to make all dealers sell trade in's a minimum of 500 miles from the previous owner. |

Trust me ST if you met both you'd understand why. I only had the car for 6 months but in that time i ended up spending nearly £2000 on the thing and then i only got £2700 on trade in. There were problems with the dashboard, engine, gearbox, brakes. The only good thing was the engine noise when you eventually accelerated and and the room in it.

I sold my mini to a Spanish woman who lived far away. She fell in love the moment she saw it, but i'd hate to see it now incase it was a state! Funnily enough she needed a new car when her very old Civic had eventually died

Many moons ago I saw my traded MG Montego in a terrible state by a roundabout. Two days later I got a letter from the police saying my ex had been involved in a robbery!!
I have always wondered how as the thing had been driven into the ground and only just made it to the Ford garage with a following wind. Luckily I had all documents to prove I was no longer the owner. |

Haven't seen my last love since selling it, but I did get a Dear John letter.
Unfortunately it was from the Bedfordshire Constabulary ticking me off for parking in some town I've never been to. This seems to be becoming a bit of a habit since I have previously had mail from Strathclyde's finest informing me my (sold) motorbike had been found behind a school in Kilmarnock and an MGB I once owned ended up swimming in a loch somewhere, supposedly having been used in a robbery. |

when it goes back to the lease co, will it become my ex-EX?
That is one of the plus points of having a company car - the chances are it'll be sold to someone miles away, as they all go back to the HQ thingy in Birmingham (though obviously that wouldn't help if you lived in Birmingham...) |
