If you then put your starbucks coffee in the gap, and slide the centre bit of plastic up to it, the cup is held in by 2 of these curved bits.

If you take the ashtray out, the bit it uncovers is flat - so the cup is only held in by 1 curved bit, and a flat bit.

If that makes any sense at all!
Makes perfect sense to me..

But then I donīt allow drinks or cigarettes in my car so what do I care...

I'm guessing you wouldn't be going very far if you had your Starbucks coffee in the holder? Just your not ment to eat or drink whilst driving the car.

I really have no use for the cup holders unless i'm at McD's with mates or the other half(s) then its needed

Why not just remove your ashtray?

I did, prefer the extra room.

Think these quotes answer your question. I'm with you on the removing it, cause thats what i've done. Did it in my last car too as it actually filled one of the cup holders

Funny how one's priorities change.
i do have a dog in mine, twice a week or so, but she is always in her carrier, so may help with not making my car smell.

I regularly pick up a coffee in the services and drive with it in the cup holders. Doing 30,000 miles a year, in flight refuelling is the only option sometimes.

Could be almost anyone!
The Missus
The Daughter
Eldest Son (youngest is too young for front seat)
Any one of about 12 people from work
The list is endless!

(although some obviously replace the coffee with another drink )

I know what you mean g-one. I'm glad I'm not the only one. It smells of iodine - strong hospital disinfectant type of smell.

Loose change? Whats that? lol!!!! I have no use for loose change in my car. Which has just reminded me that I am going to go looking for this Card holder that is mentioned in the CTR spec. That should come in handy.

My ashtray doesn't smell, but I do have a friend who smokes and he smells like an ashtray.

The interior of my car still has that beautiful leather smell from the seats. Sometimes I just sit in the car to inhale!
