towbars...
I've just took delivery of a detachable swan neck towbar with single connection electrics from eurotowbar - buy towbars online - export worldwide for my 5dr i-cdti sport. It cost £98.00 and £15.00 postage and it came today.
Don't know if they do a 3dr one thou... U'd no be long in finding out.. It was ordered on 26th April. I was going to give it a go fitting it myself as it said it would come with full instructions but only has instructions for the fitting of the bar but not the electrics. So I'm going to take it to a garage for fitting by a professional rather than me making an a*$e of it. Honda wanted an arm and a leg to supply and fit one so I thought I would save a bit and get one online and pay a garage pro to fit it. It states fitting time 1.5hrs so give or take half an hour it shouldn't be more than £100 to fit it saving £200+ ..! better in you pocket than the stealers I say..!! Or is that just the tight canny Scot in me..! Good luck.. |

Took delivery of my Type S last year and ordered a detachable tow bar to be fitted by the dealer who assured me there would be no cutting of the rear bumper which has a slightly larger overhang than standard Civics. When car arrived it had a two inch cut out of rear bumper in order to accommodate tow bar. Sort of defeats the purpose of having a detachable tow bar in the first place as I was hoping for something less obtrusive.

I fitted a swan neck Eurotowbar last week (£104 inc. delivery to France) on my 5 door.
Their quoted 90minute fitting time is, to say the least, optimistic. The whole of the rear end of the cars bodywork has to be removed, including the wheelarch trims. So if your not a competent DIY'er it would be better to have it fitted for you. The finished result is very neat and I would recommend their product. Trista |

Just been into my local towbar guy for a price for fitting my swan neck detachable Euro-towbar which I bought on line. The chap has quoted me £80+vat for fitting it, so in total it will have cost me £215 to fit.
Better than the £450 quote from Stealers to supply and fit the same thing. I was going to fit it myself but thought better of it as the wiring didn't come with instructions so better let the pro's do it so I don't end up setting my car on fire while messing with the electrics..! It's going in next Thursday for fitting.. Rgds, Al |
