Unhappy got off on the wrong foot

I think i got off on the wrong foot here with this forum so i will set things staright.
I'm not a troll (don't know what that is but someone acused me of being one)
I am not cocky as some people said just happy beyond my mind that i got such a car for my birthday.
Daddy didn't pay for it i am paying for it by working hard in a company and paying it off monthly.
I am not going to be a wreckless driver as i first of all love my car and cherish it so why would i want to crash it and don't tell me that none of you when you were 17 didn't want to accelerate quickly. You might know how people say something but never mean it like i am going to lose weight but never do thyat kind of thing. Thats the same thing here i might have said that im going to drive fast ect.. but i will never drive beyond my capabilities.

The reason i was wondering how much i coulod sell it for like i said before was to find out if i got a good deal or not but no one really told me just acused me of stuff.

Sorry for the inconvenience that i have caused.

I have just read the other thread with everything you said and all the comments you got back.

Firstly all the comments were only made because people actually give a dam, so don't take it as them having a go, just trying to help you!

Secondly chances are you WILL be involved in some sort of accident. Young, male drivers are far more likely to be involved in an accident in their first few years of driving. That's fact! Speed + Young New Driver = Accident.

No matter how good you think you are, it takes many years to build up driving experience and judge different situations you may come across while driving. Even now many of us will still come across a situation which we didn't expect as we continue to learn! You don't become a "driver" after getting that piece of paper with "passed" on it. That comes over many years.

I crashed my car within my 1st 2 years of driving. Not speed related, just inexperience. The woman in front of me set off onto a roundabout which was clear, I looked and it was still clear but the woman stopped in front of me for no reason! I went straight into the back of her! That will never happen to me again as I learnt that I should look ahead as I move off. The accident certainly made me a better driver as showed me that I always need to be aware.

You are very lucky to have such a great car at your age. Make sure you appreciate how lucky you are, but most of all do enjoy it as driving can be fun. Just make sure you are drive safely.

Sorry if you think it is a lecture, but the roads are becoming a death trap for young drivers.

Take care!

I totally disagree, I think HE IS LUCKY.

I worked by backside off at his age yet still couldn't afford a car like this. I am sure there are many people working their backsides off and can't afford a car like this.

He must have a very good job for his age to afford one, and good on him for finding that job.

Working your backside off doesn't normally = great money.

When you pass your test you should come to our meet! That way you can see that we are a good bunch really and we look out for one another (especially these young ones )

I know its at the Falkirk wheel and you may not be 100% sure of how to get there etc but some of us have met before at the Gyle and went up together. That way you'll not get lost...........Thats only if you want to come and be sad for a few hours

Its not luck. If someone works to get something then good on them. Its a shame people just get jealous of others so decide to take a grudge against them.

perhaps 'fortunate' would be a better word

I don't think anyone is 'dissing', or 'having a go', here on the grounds that ILuv is in the fortunate position of having such a great car at the age of 17.

yep even people who 'land on there feet' and get a good job at a young age, have had to work to get it and then need to work hard to keep the job!
plus borrowing money is cheap! so a 17 year old with a not bad paid job living at home with no responsibilities could easily afford a nice car and i think is better spending his money on a car than wasting it all down the pub!!

But do be vary careful because you will get caught out by it (guarenteed - its happend to everyone)! it may not end in an accident but it will happen

Impressed you got finance at 17 yrs old. (Thought it was illegal to finance a car until 18 yrs old at least).

Welcome to the forum. Insurance Stats are a wonderful thing, but I'm sure that you will be the one 17 yr old who bucks the trend and doesn't trash it due to inexperience behind the wheel.

Get some pics up in the gallery and enjoy the forum. So much info in just one place.

Technically it's not illegal to give finance to anyone, it's just not legally retrievable from anyone under 18.

Exactly, I think it's termed a 'sponsor', lots of my mates had their parents doing that for the rent on places at Uni.

The reason you got off on the wrong foot is because you said that "you were not happy" insinuating that the you got the car as a birthday present and couldnt drive it without an adult and couldnt wait to accelerate fast!!

Back tracking and trying to change what you said now, just irritates me more you tried to make out it was a gift and could lead to a Type R for your 21st and how your engine loves to rev!! You obviously thought that this would impress people, not me I am too old in the tooth for that.

I still stand by everything I said in the previous thread.
