its for a more 'exclusive' feeling

everyone has flip keys nowadays, we ( the civic guys and women) are old skool

the accord flip key does look nice but it really doesnt bother me to not have one.

It doesn't bother me either, however considering the new civic has a space age interior, a flip key would have added that finishing touch. ( or keyless entry )

I really don't see why there's all this fuss over a flip key. It's only a key! Anyway, have you seen the size of the flip keys on Audi A4s? Its like a big black box in your pocket.

ive got a flip key on my new car. Its great. So much smaller in your pocket. Honda are missing out. But its more advanced again than the new accord one as you dont have to actually use the key part.

when not in use, the key folds into the base of the plastic part.

then when you want to use it, you press a button, and the metal key part flips out

bit like a flick-knife - but flick-key just sounds wrong

I am not bothered either way to be honest ,was at first but more of a gimmick ,people probably (me included) dont see what the fuss is about your leather sports gearknob in your sig "its only a gearknob"

each to their own

Its the only thing that strikes me as odd about the Civic.

My previous Octavia had a flip key and the hire Citroen C4 has a flip key.

Hours of fun they are!
