Haven't changed job - I think I told you all before I left Portugal, that I was moving back to the UK to be a copper.....

Well, a year down the line, I'm loving every minute of the job, and wouldn't change it for the world.....It's genuinely the first time ever that i actually look forward to going to work everyday....being a copper is awesome, but being a copper in Nottingham is just brilliant fun!

Car-wise, when I got back here, I went out and bought a Focus ST-3 with the money I sold the Civic for in Portugal....the Focus was amazing - I completely loved it, but only kept it for about 6 months as I was working in the North of the county alot (Mansfield), and the traveling up there in that everyday was killing my pocket fuel-wise.....so I VERY begrudgingly swapped it for a Mondeo ST 2.2 TDCi - thinking that the fuel economy would be tons better.....a word of advice to anyway thinking of doing the same for this reason...DON'T!!!!

The MPG was only about 4-5 better than the Focus on everyday useage.....

So, I've decided to go back to Petrol, and this time back to the stunning Civic that I loved so much in Portugal....only this time a 'full-fat' Type R opposed to the 1.8 I used to have.

I know there's one or two more Plod on here aren't there?? Come on show yourselves!?!?

Jings if you thought the fuel consumption was bad in them then.....well....ummmm......i'm sure you'll maybe get it to a little more than the ST, but I can get anything from 21 mpg to 44 mpg depending on where I am, how i'm driving etc but it usually sits about the 22.3 mpg mark.....ooop!

Oh and Welcome back! Are you going to prise Chez out his shell? Not seen him on here for Donks!

31?? I can live with that......the Mondeo is doing about 33-34 MPG at the mo, and given that Diesel is quite a bit more than Petrol now, it's as near as damn it the same difference.....

Just as a comparison - when I had the Focus ST, I used to get about 25-26 MPG out of it, given the way I like to drive.....so 31 will be just fine thanks!!!

Well depending on your driving style and if you like the Vtec too much then you won't see 31 thats for sure!

Picked my Bronze beauty up first thing this morning and to say I'm well chuffed is a HUGE understatement.....

Photos to follow when I get time to take the car to my brother's for him to shoot it 'properly'....as he does....

I'm masssively impressed with how smooth it is around town, and the exhaust note at full chat is awesome.......the Focus ST sounded great when you gave it some too, but that was more intake noise than the CTR's growling 'zorsts....

One thing though...I don't know if it's just me being clumsy with the gear changes at the mo, but I've managed to 'Grind' 3rd gear 3 or 4 times now, but none of the other gears??

Has anyone had issues with 3rd gear slotting home properly??
