Has my Civic got a cloaking device
I have noticed that since driving my new NHB civ, a significant increase in the number of drivers cutting me up, pulling in front of me etc. Is it the colour, are they jealous of the car or is it just general crapness and ignorance of other drivers. I am getting a bit miffed off by this. Anyone else suffered the same

What did you drive before??
I'm guessing that you're noticing the general ignorance on the roads more due to having the fastest coloured CTR, and not wanting a scratch. |

If I drove any faster today towards the jerk entering the roundabout I would definately have buried my nice Civ into the side of his car. |

I think it's just new car syndrome.
You're much more careful driving your new car, and you notice everything bad people do, much more than you did in your previous car. Don't get mad at the idiots, just remember the passage from the bible. "Forgive them father, for they know not what they do"... |

had a NHB spaceship for just 1 week, already noticed this effect too.
been cut up, had cars turning across the road in front of me, and pedestrians stepping out too. didn't used to happen in the (navy blue) golf... it could be jealousy, but i suspect they think we can just fly over the top of them |

I think it is black cars in general as we had a toyota rav 4 in black and that was the same we just get ignored in our civic too. We also have an Audi TT in dark green (looks black) and that is fine people and other cars are very nice to us

After being cut up yet again today, I wondered if it's not the colour but the car: with previous marks the average driver age was well into retirement, perhaps other drivers not yet used to a civic being driven a little more sharply.

Maybe it's because I am getting older, and tend to stick to speed limits and road rules in general, which really seems to p*ss some people off, but I've definitely had the feeling other drivers' stereotyping of Civic drivers is partly to blame. I'm glad this thread started, because I was beginning to think it really was just me. |

Try using the M25 everyday! I had a Golf GTI undertake me while I was doing somewhere between over 69-90ish (dont want to say how much on this site). He must of been doing around 100 at least! You do get boyracers always trying to race you, I had to teach him a lesson if you know what I mean. Looking back its crazy and not worth loosing your license over it!
