Already done that a long time ago Al, good dite tho and good to let others know. If I need fuel then the only issue I have is 'Where is the nearest Shell? and do they stock V-Power'.

The M got shunted up the rear while stuck in traffic trying to get to a 'Cheaper' petrol station. The difference in price was 2p a litre and although it all adds up, the woman who hit the car caused £2.5k worth of damage....not worth the hassle

I have now reverted back to supermarket fuel or Esso as I cannot justify over £1.20 per litre.

Driving more gradually has upped the MPG to 55 so far this tank.

I wonder if you all put as much thought into how much you pay for cigarettes or alcohol. Do you all stand around in the pub moaning non stop about how much your round just cost - thought not!

I don't smoke and have to drink at home owing to how much fuel costs

However back in 1991 I was paying 48p per litre of fuel, and beer was (for Hoffmiester, I was a student) about 45p per can.

Fuel is now £1.20 per litre, yet beer is only about 60p per can.

If the increase in beer had been as much as the increase in fuel I would have two things to moan about

It was how cheap? In 1991 I turned 7 so couldn't have told you how cheap it was then. But back then that wasn't cheap was it?

There was outcry when it crossed 50p per litre, they don't know how lucky they were.

As between my wife and I we do 40,000 private miles a year, we are quite sensitive to price rises.

In the 80's a nice GTi was £9,000 and petrol was 35p.
Now it's £18,000 and 110p+.

Nice Mr Blair decided he was going to hammer fuel sales with tax, and then recently the price of oil has gone up.

Don't smoke TC but I do have a moan about the price of a pint, used to go out 2/3 times a week, lucky if I make the local once a month !
Fuel price I paid this morning was £129.9 it seems to go up every other day now. Diesel by the way.

Do you lot still use a cheque to buy half a pint of shandy to share with four straws (or have students moved up market in the last 16 years).

If people are unhappy about the rising cost of cigarettes and alcohol, they have the choice to reduce or stop the intake. Unfortunately, some of us have no choice about buying fuel as our jobs rely on it, and when I am driving 2500 miles a month just to do my job, I will definitely be moaning as long as the cost keeps on rising.

I don't frequent it too often, its my friends pub of choice and if I want to drink there it 3 miles away so either need a lift, a £1.90 single bus journey there and back (if I don't stay out late) and if I do it's a taxi ride which doesn't leave too much change outta £10. I much prefer the Inn, quiet, relaxing and a 10 minute stroll from my house

I have noticed that the garage near me that was charging 125.9p has suddenly reverted back to 107.9p

As for quiet drinks I like to be able to have a good chat with my mate without shouting or being deafened. I'm not being old before my time but I dj and whilst its fun when i'm out dance music is the last thing I wanna listen too. Same goes for being out in the car. I prefer my dance music on 12 inch vinyl

Fingers crossed the 125.9 was just a money making scam during the strike and not yet common place.

I agree about a quiet drink, but I feel uneasy in a Con or a WM club (not stooped to a Labour Club) and prefer to pay more in a local village pub.

If you want cheap drinks, drink at home (either by yourself or with mates) or at a mates house then if it gets too late you can crash where you are.

Fuel increases are an international phenomena not a national one.
