Assigning a plate to a car from a retention certificate is the generally quickest way to do it. It's when there is two vehicles involved in the transfer things slow down a bit.

I must admit though when I did it last, they were quite quick, not as fast as your transfer, that was excellent.

Yep, 1000+ fine and possible removal of the plate, also possible complications in London etc. under the Anti-terrorism act.

ROFL, You guys really think I'd intentionally plaster my plate on the net.

I have a private plate, but M4RCS is £18.995. Mine was £300.

I did think when I saw it you were lucky to get that plate and it probably cost more than your car.

That is one downside though Kremmen, another is, it's one more thing to consider when you swap your car. Transferring number plates can sometimes be a right pain.
Its a real pain when you sell privately

When i sold my old civic, it only took a day to get my private plate off the car and onto retention. four days in all for the document to come back to me in the post ready to fill when the car was being collected the following day.
I then purchased an S2000 which it would not have not looked very good on so left it on retention.
Then i decided to sell the S2 and go back to an R but the new FN2, found one privatley and I asked the seller if i could have the full document when i purchased it so i could do the plate transfer all together, he was happy to do that and that only took a phone call to the insurance and a trip down to the office. one day again. that was the tuesday and my new registration document was delivered on thursday in my name and with the private plate on it.
