I have two plates.
One I bought for my 21st birthday R***MJS which has been on all my cars since '99, last three letters are my initials - cost £299 from the DVLA at the time. My other is a family heirloom and has been passed down from my Grandad and is currently on my MGB roadster. 520SR - value is probably more than the car it's on and I wouldn't sell either of them. Had a guy come up to me in Asda one day and asked if he could by R***MJS off me. I said no straight away. I wish I has asked him how much he would give me for it though. |

Could you please explain why you could get cloned by posting your reg, surely someone who wants to clone a car just needs to look in say a car park to get all the information they need, or am i missing something ?

TBH, your number plate is viewable on your car and so if anyone is actually bothered about cloning plates, they could just look at the thousands of cars they pass everyday.

Well yes obviously they could, but they could do it without leaving the comfort of their own home by searching on here. You are also opening the opportunity up to a wider audience and not just your local low-life. Last edited by Dimplyred : 1st May 2008 at 19:15. |

for example - your local scum has stolen a bronze CTR and needs a number plate for it to drive around in there are not many bronze CTR's on the road and very hard to just "find" one in your local car park so he will get onto civinfo or pistonheads or another similar site and if someone has left there plate showing he will "clone" it making life much easier for him and life much harder for YOU Last edited by NEEMSTAR : 1st May 2008 at 19:30. |
