Emergency service vehicles from Honda..?
I'm not sure if this has been discussed in the past. I apologise if it has but has anyone seen white or silver Honda Civic Diesels dressed up for emergency services..?
I know that Specialist Vehicle Services have previously ordered Focus and Astra's for Cops and Fire services but has anyone seen a civic yet..? They have new shape Honda CRV's in silver for Paramedics and Fire but not Police. Mind you the cars are usually estate versions so maybe that's why, but the Civic has a huge boot. There must surely be a few Civic trials with the emergency services especially in the Diesel form ? Anyone out there got spy snaps??? |

Hi Neemstar..
Sounds like a fire dept supervisor vehicle, they have small rectangular shaped blues on the roof with no other markings but usually have blues in the grill too. Thanks for the link to the first police civic they must have a few on trial right enough, or has someone doctored that pic of the uk civic cop car..? Rgds, Al |

Civic's are very popular as community vehicles being partly liveried but without the emergency equipment. These are usually sponsored vehicles supplied by local dealers.
The main problem is one of cost. Most general police cars are now diesels for the fuel economy aspect and so where a diesel Civic is upwards of 16,500 an equivalent Astra is a good few grand less. Plus they do a much better deal for the cops too, so you're looking at the cars costing much less than a Civic. Until Honda offers a low spec car suitable for the cops, and at a cheap cost, it won't happen for a while I shouldn't think. |

Honda supply FRV's and CRv's to the Scottish Ambulance service
also the force I work for has a few CR-V's so Honda do supply quite a few vehicles to the emergency services |
