They have destroyed what is your property and nothing to do with Honda.

Wonder who that was?

I too would go mental, they don't remove a non-oem head unit or replace your non-standard speakers with OEM ones, so why touch anything else the person has chosen to add to their car????

I always suggest to any of my customers that if they want to take the sticker out of the rear window, do it straight away as it doesnt have time to 'set'. I cant stand sticking badges from dealers onto cars, so 80's and dead tacky. In truth, most DP's feel the same way.

Most cars have the dealership name on the number plates (by law) and if you do you job properly enough, the customers word of mouth should be advertising enough.

I would have loved to have seen that Just reminds me that I saw a new Fiat Panda yesterday that had come from AC's and they had put those horrible yellow stickers on the front bumper just under the grill, the back bumper and the rear windscreen. The site of all those stickers is enough to put anyone off buying from them. God knows what they were thinking

Mine came with a rear window sticker and the number plates with the dealers name, they're pretty inconspicuous so I have no problem. However, putting a badge on the paint work would be another mater all together. Like others have said I would refuse to accept the car until it were removed.

PS - thanks for the tip on getting the number plates off easily, mines is a bit squint and when I tried before I thought the whole rear bumper was gonna come off! I hate those things, they're a nightmare to get to stick in the first place but when they do they sure as hell are stuck!!

Stick for a couple of years at least....I found my rear number plate from my Mini on the deck after about 3 years of ownership. Was on with sticky pads and as I washed the car every weekend (like I currently do) it eventually came off ended up screwing them on - made a huge difference when taking the rear plate off to change it back to the original one for the new owner. However I do agree that if you use double sided tape like carpet tape it sticks like hell and it takes some doing to get it off!

I think the legal obligation for number plates is that the supplier/dealer has only to add their post code for it to be legal,,,,,Could be wrong though.

Number plates must display the name and postcode of the supplying outlet

I believe Dave is right - post code alone could relate to too many actual properties / businesses

took my dealers sticker off straight away
if they stuck something on the paintwork all hell would break loose
take it back and ask for them to take it off

I don't think this is strictly applied, or at least not in Northern Ireland. Many people get plates made up at local car accessory shops and these have no markings except the actual registration.
My plates came on the car and the only additional writing to my registration is 'Agnew Honda Belfast'

I got my car from Crown Honda and they put a little gold metal crown next to the civic badge - I think it actually looks pretty good!

The other half's HRV was from Crown. They stuck their little crown motif above the 'O' in HONDA. Looks very nice.

When I had a Peugeot 306 a while back I asked the dealer to remove the tacky "The New" badge from the rear paintwork.

I don't mind the sticker in the back window, since I no longer have the dealer's keyring, it's the easiest way of finding their telephone number.

I'm delighted to say that my dealer didn't even put a sticker on my rear window. Was well impressed. I would have gone ape if I'd the OP's experience.

In answer to the original question, if you're not getting anything from them, like perhaps some free accessories then I'd be telling them to remove the badge.

There was a firm called Cicely who were a big Mercedes dealer, and all their demonstrator vehicles had CICELY on the right hand side of the boot, but it was in the same font as the C200 or whatever, so it actually complimented the car and for years I thought that a CICELY Mercedes was a special model!!

I like that one, but I'm of the same Ilk that object to having a badge stuck on the paint work, as if it wasn't thin enough already.
