Thats terrible but quite a feet getting onto a bonnet with a slope like that.

Guessing this happened back home? In the drive? And not in the lakes?

The appropriate punishment would be to get your car to jump up and down on their head....

i know how you feel someone did this to me last year, car was only 1 month old, needed new bonnet new grille and new headlight, now to add insult to injury my insurance premium has doubled this year as a result even with protected no claims needlesss to say Im switching companies. All I can say is it will get fixed and you might even get some paint on the new bonnet

I too know how you feel, though fortunately not with my current civic. Some little brats thought it would be funny to run down the street in the night jumping on the bonnets and kicking the windscreen of every car on our side of the street. Must have cost the street thousands and thousands. Police forensics guys showed up and took loads of boot prints that had been clearly left everywhere, but they will never be caught.

Completely unnecessary and the only punishment should a public shooting as far as I am concerned!

Really sorry to hear what happened .

I hope you can get it sorted.

I do think that people like that should be punished in some way.

My last car was vandalised in the street along with 5 others, caused approx £10000 damage, the Police did catch the scumbag, took him to court and all he got was two weeks community service, I and everybody else am out of pocket due to the claims on insurance, paying the excess and also the increase in premiums. There is no justice for the victims of any type of crime in this country any more. Overall directly from my pocket this has cost me about £800 not to mention my lost time in getting the car repaired. (And the embarrassment of having to drive a Ford Ka) Why should I be out of pocket when all I did was park my car in the street.

Really feel for you Pendlerose, I hope you find out who did it then maybe you could extract you own justice.

So if the cops caught him and he was convicted, why don't you take the toerag to court and claim all the expenses from him? There is no way you would lose, the only problem being how much you might get from him but then you can always get the compensation paid in instalments.

Because damaging cars according to the police is no longer illegal....... anyone see that massive FUBAR by the police in the papers????? Not enough resources to deal with the offences!!!!!! Funny that GF gets abused by some lads, report it ot the police, they don't care, say the abuse was racist and they could get to us quick enough!!!!!!! The state the countries in, is it any wonder these little so and so's do it??? They know they can get away with it!!!!

Gonna sound old now....... BUT when I was a kid, I would never have dreamt of doing anything like this;

A). Because I was brought up properly

and

B). Because of the 'clip' round the ear my mum would have given me!!!!

I feel really sorry for you mate, having your car damaged and all, but sadly it's the little s*ds perogative to vandalise, wreck and generally demolish anyone who has anything nicers than them, because they'll have had a 'hard childhood' or been given the wrong colour Reeboks or some such twaddle, yet to defend your property is no longer allowed..... I'd suggest if it's on your drive get some security lights or camera's or on the road by your house by a security light and set the sensor to cover the area where your car is and possibly put some camera's in (make them obvious) to cover the area, sadly you can't do what I advocate which is wiring the car to the mains or a small 20Kg block of semtex and pressure pads

Hope it's all sorted soon,
Tom

But it patently is not illegal (I'm taking you literally here ) because the little scrot has been 'sentenced', even tho it's not much of one. Therefore, it would be a straight forward case in a civil court to claim expenses and compensation.

Sometimes you have to get up and fight your corner yourself and not rely on the police to do it for you. If I'm out of pocket because of the actions of this kid, then I'd take him or his parents to court and sue. Simple.

Agreed, but unfortunately what I'm saying is, the Police (and the legal lot, I'm not blaming the police entirely here, they can only do what the lawyers tell them after all) are there to uphold law and order, and to protect us, the general public, from harm and/or distress. Therefore they are blatently not doing their job if they fail to (and I understand sometimes they are stuck anyways) if these little scrots are not worried about the law when they are out vandalising and breaking things.

Also, if you do get up and fight your corner, all you get is a mouthful of abuse, as the parents clearly don't care, and the likely hood is, at least round here, you can take them to court and they'll be asked to pay you your money, but do they have it???? Or are you going to be getting 5 pounds a week indefinately.

I'd be all for that, bringing back corporal punishment would see the end of a lot of crime in this country.
