I wonder if anyone else has same problem as me.I have a 2006 1.8 se silver, and this weekend i was cleaning the main lower binnacle and noticed a small split in the perspex.
It has never to my knowledge had any direct impact but never the less has this small split. My local dealer has inspected it, taken some digi photos and has sent a request off to Honda to hopefully have a complete new binnacle..(with rev counter mileometer etc) this im told will be costing about £700, and unless Honda agree im going to have to live with it. I read on the forum that someone said all the clear and bluey tinted perspex is replaceable on its own..is this correct?, as i would liken to advise my dealer who appears unaware of this.( Im not holding my breath on this as anything i ask for under warranty appears to be too much trouble and im frequently being told...whatever the problem is that oh ..honda know about this or that...but they arent doing anything about it...dont start me about the radio!!!!..Anyway...anyone else had this problem. This is my first post...and ive told my dealer about the site...they dont like us...surprise surprise !!! Last edited by barneybee; 10th June 2008 at 20:27. Reason: spelling mistake |

The perspex in front of the rev counter IS separate from the dials etc.
My dealer didn't know this either. The rev counter does need to come out so that the glass can be changed - should only take about half an hour. |

No bother.
The part number for the perspex glass only is 78259-SMG-E21. Don't know exactly how much it costs as Honda Customer Care paid for mine. |
