Dent and ding removal with dry ice

seen a few videos and read some forums on paintless dent removal and it seems this fix for panel dents and dings might work.
warming the panel with a hair dryer and applying dry ice or an upturned can of co2 and the dent seems to disappear,i tried it on the side of a very heavy duty roll cab tool box and the dent did reduce markedly but the gauge of steel is probably to thick.i am very tempted to try it on a small ding on my civic but i used all my freezer spray on the tool box .....doh!
I thought i would post this as it may be a cheap way of dent removal without the messing around and expense.

I tried it on a dent on my motorcycle petrol tank and on a dent on the car door. In both cases it didn't work at all; I was most disappointed after seeing the U-Tube videos.

this actually works? i got quoted £350 to remove a dent slightly smaller than my small finger nail just off the edge of the passenger door on the back panel. he said he needed to re paint half the side to blend the colour in, they can t beat it out but to fill it in instead. might try this

Just use keyboard C02 cleaner it's cheaper and safer, dry ise isn't hard to get, just it dissapears quickly, it's also dangerous to use (my gf got burnt with some not so long ago and it is incredibly painful....oh and it turns into poisonous 'gas').

Tom, the burns are really nasty but the gas isn't poisonous, it's just not good to breathe in in any real quantity (we produce CO2 when we breathe out) it's what actually sparks the brain into taking a breath during CPR is the saturation of CO2 that's in the person's blood - when you're doing mouth to mouth you're not breathing for them, just increasing the saturation levels of CO2 to 'trick' the brain.

On the other hand, the idea of pulling a dent using it looks ace!

Well, technically anything that causes problems when it is breathed in or injected etc. etc. is considered poisonous, however your right it is the quantity that matters, but in a confined space with enough of it is rather dangerous.........

"it's what actually sparks the brain into taking a breath during CPR is the saturation of CO2 that's in the person's blood" Never heard that in 15 years
