Short of rolling your car over, I don't know what could damage the glass roof. If that does happen, the roof will be the least of your worries!

If you really need to know, give your insurance a call, they will be able to tell you!

The odd idiots that throw stones/bricks from bridges above you - I'd be interested in what effect a falling brick would have on the glass roof... not mine though!

As has been stated on another thread, the tin roof panel seems so thin that I would imagine the damage would be similar whether you have a glass roof or a tin one, on reflection thought if the glass is toughened the glass roog may come out better

My thought was that because I guess it is a laminated screen like a windscreen. Then it could also be damaged in the same way (flying stones, rogue wheelnuts etc) i.e. it could crack or chip. But, then again anything hitting it at speed would be more of a glancing blow, rather than a windscreen which takes a more full-on impact.

Coming from the smart world, where we have a glass roof too, they are usually included on the Windscreen Cover.

In the First Coupe's with the Glass Roof, Stone Chips used to cause them to shatter, although a retro-fit of a laminated Plastic Strip was postioned on the Front edge (about 6 inches High) to absorb these impacts ..
