Honda Civic... The Best Bits...

I really thought it was kind of about time that we all celebrated our Civic (and for that matter the accord or jazz) and made a new post on THE GOOD STUFF about our cars!!!
I realise that we complain A LOT about our cars, and this forum wouldn't be the same otherwise, but shall we ''try'' and talk about the nicer things in life that we have, compared to lets say, some of the other manufactured cars!!!
I have a funny feeling that i will be hearing tumble weed rolling across the floor with this thread but hey lets give it a shot!!!

Here's my contribution...

I love my car because... it still is an almighty head turner, the interior leather seats are awesome and the blue lambient lighting is such a nice touch...

OH I LOVE MY CIVIC...

Trouble is people moan too much. The surveys on this forum show most are satisfied, can't wait to get my Civic. Four weeks to go....

I love mine because it`s reliable, economical, beautiful to look at, great fun to drive, supremely practical and has brought motoring enjoyment back to me.

I have knocked it but I do like :
  • Having the SatNav built in (and especially the RDS-TMC feature)
  • Bluetooth
  • MP3
  • Dashboard layout
  • MPG
  • HID's
  • Voice control
All the auto bits:
  • Wipers
  • Radio Volume

awwwwww, now im blushing!!!!

I haven't checked recently what im getting mpg. I keep it on how many miles i have left till i need petrol, so prob get between 44-46mpg if i drive like a very competent driver! If i drive a bit erratic then about 40mpg.

How about you?

Computer figure is 42 mpg over 7900 miles but corrected manually as I log all petrol and mileage in my little book ( Scrooge) is 39 mpg, which I personally think is terrific for a 1.8.

What a great idea for a thread. I love the looks (inside & out), the engine (rev, rev, rev), the HID headlights, the automatic wipers, the built-in satnav (never used a TomTom, but I think it's better than other stand alone units I've used) & perhaps most importantly the fact that it's just so different to a Focus, Astra, Golf, etc...

It is... The highest i think i have done is 45mpg. I was testing it out by driving sooooo perfectly for about 3 days. Makes a difference to driving like a loony, where i got about 34mpg... lol

I drive kinda how the most competent drivers drive, get about 40mpg all round.

So far I love the car for it's engine and gearbox. ALso it is nice to look at and it turns peoples heads. I can't wait to get the lowering springs fitted and a set of 18" wheels.

I believe the Civ will be more reliable than my Megane that gave up on me 3 or 4 times in just two years.

You can always see positive sides about bad things as well...

For instance:
The paint is soft and scratches easily. Yes, but then you will take better care of it. You will be more careful.

As we go up to London quite a bit from Eastbourne and as long as I don`t drive over 70mph (illegal) it quite often shows 50 mpg on the computer figure by the time we get to the Dartford Tunnel. (sorry Gordon Brown)
