I like it, but I also like the one we have and I'm used to the visibility now.

I first saw this picture here. Type R - Rear End View Options

Actually had this pic saved in "my pictures" folder for a while now... probably found it whilst trawling through some Honda enthusiast websites while i should be working! It's a tough one for me as i love the current design of the spoiler but hate the restricted visibilty!

Coming from a Megane II and also having driven a Volvo S40 quite a bit, I actually don't think the rear visibility is a big problem.

Even though there is a spoiler splitting the rear window, it is fairly big. So it is not much, if any, worse than my previous cars. With a standard spoiler on the S40 trunk and the small rear window of the Megane those are no better.

Obviously there are quite a few cars with better visibility - but on the other hand the Civic is not exceptionally bad, and a lot of the "problem" is solved with the big side mirrors.

However, I like the last one though. But with the spoiler in that position you would most certainly need a rear wiper or really suffer from poor visibility during the cold season (at least where I live ).

I like it but I prefer the shape we have now.

I really like the present shape and I like the split level spoiler.

I think it's going to be hard to improve on the shape of the present model.

You are right about that! How will they be able to make the design even more modern when the next Civic Version arrives?

You would definately need a rear wiper with that design - but I personally prefer it

It hasn't got the many seals that collect water.

Hmmm, nah thats not for me I'm afraid......that just seems to take away from the look of the car, also if they had made the Type R like that then surely they would of had to have redone the whole Civic Hatch range?

It makes me laugh on the Type R sites out there when you get some 'numpty' complaining that the spoiler should be moved to the top in the FN2 because it reduces visability and these people are ones who haven't even driven a bog standard Civic because if they had they would realise that the spoiler bolted on the back makes no difference as the rear window in all the 8th gen are the same, Honda then just bolt another bit plastic on the back

It was from the "other site" about the time when the first cars started turning up for test drives.

Edit: Forgot to say the car did have a garage logo on it, at the bottom of the passenger door but I cant remember what it was now.

That's two Civics needing rear wipers now!

If you look at it long enough... it's very reminiscent of the outgoing CTR it replaced...

Or is it just me!!
