I tested the Civic four times, once for a whole day.

The thing I dislike about my Civic is the fact that every know and again I have to put fuel in it. Come on Honda is'nt it about time you invented a car to run on fresh air. lol

My biggest niggle is rain coming in when you have a window partialy open. Not a hard fix I would have thought?
We drove 2500 miles through France this year with a 600 mile non stop leg, it's the most relaxing car that I have driven.

Mines the obvious Rear Spoiler.
Suspension and paint quality. I think they could have done something better...

Try driving (at speed) with all 4 windows wide open ... you get less wind \ rain intrusion, than with partially open (or just open front) windows !!! ... strange, but true ...

What I hate is that there is no AUX in/ipod connection. It's the one thing I would have (WILL have if possible) retro fitted from the facelift 09.

Have no issue with the rear view, as WC said, the spoiler helps obscure headlights... apart from the above, I love my civic!

Have you considered fitting some Wind deflectors

Climair Wind Deflectors for cars, commercial vehicles, convertibles, soft top and cabriolet

Really easy to say "paint not as good as a Golf and ride harder than a Focus, A pillar visibility not as good as a Megane......."

Point is you can't buy a car with VW paint and Focus suspension and Megane visibility etc. You have to look at the package as a whole and having looked at all of the alternatives, I just couldn't beat the Civic.

Yes there are a couple of issues, but I bet if we looked at similar forums for Focus. Golf etc I reckon that we would see similar "issues" there too.

I decided to home-in on a Civic, because of all the faults mentioned in here ... i.e. mostly 'niggly' things and many-many people said "I have no problems \ complaints whatsoever" !!! ... unlike many other marques ...

So, I just made sure that my choice (which was in the dealer's compound) didn't have any of the commonly reported issues ... and it didn't !!! ...

The only thing that I have noticed - recently - is the 'creaking' (from the exhaust mount) for the first few seconds every morning ... and I'd say that if this most excellent forum hadn't made me aware of it, I'd never have heard it at all (need to turn stereo off and listen carefully) ...

I know this might sound stupid, but it really bugs me, the fact that when i seem to fill the tank up ..... whenever i come to a stop, i can hear the fuel gushing around and it really annoys me !!
Sounds like im in the atlantic !!

None of my previous cars have sounded anything like this.....

Also, I'm still in two minds regarding the rear spoiler ....

Apart from that.....
