Its very odd at first but you do get used to it. It was good because it stopped the screen misting up again after a few minutes. The only trouble used to be that you still had to defrost the side windows manually!

Totally agree. I have had no problems with the screen so far with the climate control system on

Found it much quicker than the heated windscreen in a previous Ford.

i've only done 300 odd miles in it and right now they only think is the squeeky dashboard.

about other common gripes....

i like not having the rear wiper. makes it look a lot more tidy.
the suspension is hard, but i chose a type r so im ok with that.
i like my music and the stereo seems good enough to me, although could be better obviously.

i have been a victim of the 'squeeky dashboard' its right above the fans on the radio dash!

also squeeky clutch pedal

the rattles
lack of rear wiper
the rattles
crap stereo (esp lack of decent ipod solution)
the rattles
rear visibility (need to get some reversing sensors fitted. got used to having them on my old car)
the rattles
voice recognition/hft is pretty rubbish
the rattles
not being able to see the bonnet of the car when parking
the rattles
the steering wheel getting in the way of the top of the instrument panel
the rattles
the brakes aren't great
the rattles
too much gear changing (not a fault with the car really, prev car was mondeo st220. could almost drive it like an auto in 5th)
the rattles
not keen on the seats.. Not comfy on long journeys (feel like the seat is too "short".. not enough support under my thighs)
did I mention the rattles

that's all I can think of off the top of my head

The visibility things you should really have noticed on a test drive so it is a bit unfair to blame the car.

The brakes are better than any type of last shape Mondeo I have tried (inc a ST TDCi), I have not tried a 220, perhaps they were significantly upgraded. If your car is new or recently had pads fitted, they improve vastly after a couple of weeks or so.

I did know about it beforehand. Its something I knew I would have to tolerate. Doesn't mean I have to like it though!

Yeah a lot of folk say the Mondeo has crap brakes.. I never had a problem with them myself..

The paint, parked the R near a hedge and it looks like a brillo pad was rubbed from one side of the bonnet to the other, parked my clio right inside the hedge to see what happened it and no marks.

Put a drop of petrol in the tank by accident, have the AA snitch on you and then Honda invalidate your warranty even though the local dealers were unable to deal with the repair in a timely manner (ie over a week) and that I did not run the car. Anyway, I've gone from someone very pro about my Honda Civic to someone who will tell the world how crap Honda are, oh and I'm tarring the dealer with the same fate.
