Rattles, naff radio and heavy boot lid. Thats about it, apart from the short service intervals.....

one week into owning my spaceship and I cant fault it in anyway
I cant believe how easily I have adjusted to the restricted rear visibility. The mirrors do help.

Definitely the best hatch on the market

has to be...

1. The completely pointless ok Button on the sat nav to agree you're not some idiot who's going to drive into a wall and say your gps told you to.

you get in to the car, and have to press ok. you start the engine and press ok again. you stall the car and have to press ok again. You try to make a phone call and you can't without pressing ok.

2. The poor voice recognition

Hmmmm now let me see. I agree that it is by far the best looking hatch however I intently dislike the following:-

Cheap plastics - constant and untraceable rattles
Lack of rear wiper
Poor visibility to the rear
Rubbish stereo
Even poorer Bassworks
Extremely poor voice recognition
Different light intensities on the various dashboard components (in dark)
The infuriating lack of memory on the front seats
The absolutely under-rated brakes
Naff suspension
Lack of mid-range pull, in fact engine performance in general

Having siad all that, it can raise a smile when screaming at 7500 rpm!!

The Noisy, faulty suspension (rear & front) is the main thing I dislike about my Civic and the fact that Honda UK are dragging their heals with a fix for it. The other things such as dashboard rattles and thin paint I can live with.

Just the rattles annoy me. So I just turn up my stereo and drown them out. I find that the arm rest on the front passenger door rattles on left hand bends. Weird. The rear visibility I find OK. Not a problem. Like other people here I find the A pillars are a problem for visibility. But by leaning forward a bit I can see round them for bends OK.

????? How can you say that? - Its a fantastic engine (I assume you are talking about the CTR as you own one)

If it still raises a smile at 7500 rpm you can't dislike it that intently

I only regret one thing...

Not having bought it earlier!!!!
I love my car... and I'm even starting to love the rattles and the misaligned door, and the filtration I have on the windshield... and even that crappy paint... whenever some one asks for the chips on my bonnet I tell them that's just an aerodynamic aid for the car, It gives my Civic more Hp!!!

1. The paint, or rather the lack of it + stone chips.(Milano red)

2. The stupid overreading speedo. 8-10%

3. The front seats with no return memory-on a 16k car? Wake up Honda!

4. Passenger side rubber floor mat not able to be secured.

5. £15.49 for a litre of top-up 0-30 oil? Somebody is having a laugh!

6. Suspension too hard (shakes out fillings!)

I have been fortunate enough to have owned a number of new cars over the years, but for faults the Civic is the worst I have owned.
Hopefully I have seen the last of these as I had them fixed as they appeared.
The faults have not put me off the Civic as it stands out from most other cars on the road.As I have modified the bodywork on mine it looks even better,(well in my eyes anyway).
Overall,I am quite happy with mine.

Hmm, only a few things I don't like:

It is noisy- tyre noise at speed mainly.

Some interior plastics and build quaility could be better.

Auto lights - I've tried hard to live with them, but given up. They might be worth using if they only switched on/off after the ligthing conditions changed for more than 5 or 10 seconds.

Second gear is occasionally a bit baulky.

Radio reception is mediocre on some stations.

On the plus side (but admittedly its only got 3K miles) no suspension issues, no stone chip issues so far, the hatch opens and shuts easily, no rattles worth mentioning and my 1.8 (08MY) has used no oil, so no cylinder head issues hopefully.
