Red face Hard decision - need some advices

Hi,

I have an Civic 5D, 1.8l , M/T from 2 years with some adjustments performed.

So far so good...I have enjoy the car, also much things to improve still waiting.

Recently I have a identify the possibility to change my car with the Civic Sedan Si.

I have read about this car different reviews and it seems like interior quality and others to be much more under the European models.

What should I do ? Invest more money in my current Civic or buy this one, more powerfull but with a lot of questions marks regard the guarantee and others ?

I guess you have to weigh up all the different criteria and decide on what's best for you.

Is the car imported?

Will the car have a warranty?

What is the difference between the european 4 door sedan and the US version?

Personally the warranty issue would be very important to me.

If you've spent alot of time and effort modifying your current vehicle, it may be a shame to lose it.

As you know, the cars imported from the US don't keep the warranty protection in Europe....so I need to manage by myself this issue.

On the other hand the Civic 5D model begin to show his weeknesses, clutch, steering servo box, etc.

I don't know and especially I don't belive the new facelift solve those problems.

HappyMan, I talk about the US Si model,197 hp, not the standard one, the same model like Europe, 140 Hp

The Si in the US is the TypeR that the UK gets is it not? But with the Sedan type body shell rather than the hatch?

This isn't as bad as it looks - bear in mind that the US Gallon is only 83% of the UK Gallon, so this would relate to 25 and 35 respectively - still not good I admit, but they are built for the American market where 20mpg is regarded as economical

It's true, I have a few american friends and they told me that 25mpg is a really good thing in the states and would be considered economical!!!!

Classic!

I know a guy who has Si Coupe from US and is happy. He imported it from US a few months ago when financially it made a lot of sense - on top he likes the coupe version anyway.
Si is a US equivalent for Type R.
I would say it is interesting option - you can have a familly saloon with excellent performance.
The quality does not seem to be any worse then the Swindon one (and we all know it is not something to be proud of really). I have no statistics but my colleagues car has been 100% reliable so far.

US gallon is not equal to UK one.

Indeed, as far I read the performance of the car is quite impresive but not so because despite the equivalance between the Si concept and EU Type-R there are some people on the US forums that are very dissapointment about how the engine throttle works...and the engine kick.

More than that most of them like most the EU model that seems to be the most UFO and have better performance...

At the beginning I like the ideea to have a family car with almost 200hp under the hood but I don't want to make any compromises especially isn't a best time period for acid financial investments.
