It's finally here (first 40km) :)

Finally picked up my Civic!
Civic 1.8 Executive i-SHIFT, Alabaster Silver.

Picked it up this afternoon. Too bad weather is all day raining
Of extras so far on the car is Grand Prix (aka image pack) which makes it look absolutely perfect (rest of extras should arrive within a week).

Finally sitting in my new car, driving it.. it was absolutely amazing!
i-SHIFT is really cool, although in some specific situations can be quirky in automatic mode in some situations - but hitting paddles behind the steering wheel fixes that
While driving I dont feel speed as much as in previous Civic, also the ride seems more 'easy' opposed to old Civic (6th gen with VTI engine) as it was pushing for more 'sporty' ride, even when having to drive slow due to traffic in city, whilst with new one it is much more easy to drive slow.
Automatic wipers are also amazing thing.. they work great!
However, visibility IS much poorer than in previous car. On left bends from left A pillar does obstruct lots of view. Same goes for C pillar in behind which makes reversing into my garage a nightmare (have to drive now in reverse mostly by using mirrors).
Rear visibilty is.. well, not so good - and image pack spoiler also help for lower visibility. However, there are huuge side mirrors which help with that
When got home, packed also parent into back so we all went for a drive. With 4 people it was nice to drive it, everyone had lots of space. But - bad news is I have a sqeak coming from rear - seemd like from left rear side - altho my dad thinks it's coming from trunk lid. You can hear it over speed bumps or bumpy road. Well, guys at service will have stuff to check when they fit extras that are late
Also over poor (bumpy) road ride is quite bad - due to stiff suspension and quite wide/low tyres (yes.. even with 17"). My old Civic was much more soft over those roads - as with new one it made me almost cry driving there.

All in all, veery happy I finally got it!
It's just a shame it is such poor weather outside, otherwise I'd still be driving arround

PS: pics will follow when rain stops

Hey Nick,

Glad you're enjoying it so far, amek sure you get that squeek sorted out, hopefully won't take Honda long to fix it.

Told you it would be worth the wait!

Enjoy it!

Enjoy it.

You may want to consider getting some blind-spot mirrors (the small round ones are the best, from Halfords). These worked really well for me. My previous car was a Renault Clio, so the larger Civic took some getting used to.

The drivers mirror does have a blind spot built-in already (notice the vertical line on the right side of the mirror), but I find these are totally useless.

Just a suggestion.

All the best.

I don't have a problem with blind spot. Only problem is when i reverse into garage that C pillar is obstructing view.. a lot!
Well, I guess after some time I'll just get used to it

Nick, this is the situation I also experience but the reversing camera helps greatly
