Spare key with plastic serial number?

Is the white plastic serialnumber patch which came with the spare key important? seem to have lost mine somewhere

If I recall correctly you need it if you ever need new keys. So yes it was.

My spare key did not have a plastic serial number, but I see in my service book there is a 4 character key code.

We have been through this before. It seems the ignition/door key number tag is invisible as is the locking wheel nut key sticker referred to on page 34 (last paragraph) of the service book.

Door/ignition key = 4 digit number prefixed by a letter (dealer should have recorded it in the service book's vehicle details)

Locking wheel nut key 8 digit number on the Honda Key Codecard ( should be in the main wallet's inside cover.)

If Honda are trying to confuse us all - they are doing a good job!
