test drive

Well, I had a test drive this weekend in the civic ex 2.2 ctdi, I will only be getting an SE (vivid blue) as keeping to a budget and don't need a lot of the toys especially the satnav as i already have one,it's called the wife !
Was very impressed !! the power is great and quiet especially when cruising and the room in the rear is amazing, have put any ideas of the golf on the back shelf!!
Hoping to order one soon after xmas so will be a while yet as long as i don't get put off reading all the negative stuff on her!! ,except for tailgate dripping etc, just won't open it when it's wet

Welcome vtech 15,
Don't be put off by the negative stuff, as there are many more positives as you have witnessed first hand. You should get a newer car with many items fixed unless you buy an old stock one.
It's a great driver and I still don't mind driving for a few extra miles
On the space front I still amaze myself how much stuff I can squeeze in, especially under the rear seats; a common missed storage space.
That blue is an excellent choice it stands out and hides the dirt quite well, matched with the diesel too.

I'm amazed how much stuff you can lose under the rear seats. You come to put the seat backs down and.. boing - Mr Incredible makes an appearance.

Don't worry about the negative stuff - some users each have a small niggle - it just looks a lot worse when hundreds of those are piled up here.

yeah i take most of the probs with a pinch of salt i dont mind the odd prob as long as the dealer fixes it. plus i was looking at the golf and theres quite a lot of negative stuff about reliability on them too these days ! the ford i've got has given me no probs so far ( touch wood ) but it's a ford !!
our local honda dealer (chelmsford ) was always brilliant in the past with my old civic but was taken over by lind who also do the vw franchise just hoping they haven't come down to the vw customer service standards !!
Definatly will get a new one as the used ones are not much cheaper really would only end up getting a year old sport instead of new SE, only toy i wouldn't mind would be the front and rear sensors ( wifey worried about the bits you cant see from the driving seat )

Great choice of Civic. I have done 600 miles in mine (2007 model) and have not had any problems at all. Makes the journey to work more bearable.
