I think you meant "large" instead of "small" regarding the turning circle.
Was your old car FWD or RWD?
FWD cars normally have larger turning circles because of the angular limitations of the CV joints.

You mean that the turning circle is large?
compared to other cars in its class it is slightly larger by about 20cm larger than a focus or a golf
but nothing really noticable

I always thought my 2002 Civic turning circle was pretty poor, it seemed worse than my previous Mondeo.
I think I read that the new Civic is slightly better though, possibly because of a slightly wide track.
Nothing in the brochure, and nothing technical details in the in the 2002 Civic handbook.

Try turning in a 04 style civic..... I touch the steering lock all the time!

You can't really pull into car park spaces forwards in one go!

One of the things that has impressed me about the Civic is its much tighter turning circle....!

My Civic Ex has the worst turning circle of any car I ever drove. (And I drove a shitload for my work)

First time I got home with it, I turned to get on my driveway, and I had to back off again or I would have "crashed" into my hedge.

Don't really notice it while driving, except U-turns are really ***** too.

I guess some are better and some are worse, there are 3 different turn circles depending on wheel size and spec if you check closely on the website.

It's not that bad compared to the previous version of the Renault Clio, that was horrible.

there is a big difference between numbers on paper and pratical use.
On paper the circle is about 11.0 meters for the wheels. But more important is the circle that you have to make if turning between, lets say, walls. Thát is information that we need but this numbers are never in the books.

Because of the wheels are almost on the edges of the car in pratical we can turn-around this car very easy. I love it.

I too have noticed the turning circle to be a bit larger than other cars I've driven. Unless you're spot on, can take a shunt or 2 more to get into tighter parking bays.

In contrast, the missus' '54 Panda can turn on a sixpence...

I've found it great, but it does take a bit of getting used to with not being able to see the Bonnet. Once you can judge where the corner of the car is you might find it a bit better.

No problem with parking in tight spots yet. But i did notice the turning circle is larger than of my previous car, a Ford Puma. Some u-turns i used to make in one attempt, now take some reversing.

If the turning circle is too large you can reduce it a bit with the handbrake!!

Actually the car does not have a corner! The corner has been rounded and this really frees the corner area in tight manoeuvres...
But after 6 months' driving, I still cannot park too close to something in front. I feel like I have approached enough, but I am almost always mistaken by about a foot.

Interesting this, as I was recently thinking to myself how niftily the car handles when I'm parking at the local supermarket, where the lanes and spaces seem designed for nothing larger than a Fiat Seicento. Compared to my previous cars the turning circle seems OK.
