Door Protectors? - Or Not??

Two questions:
1. Do the door protectors work?
2. Do they spoil the 'lines' of the car?
3. Better colour coded or not?

Have the same dilemma!!
1. I hope they work! My car will spend most of the time in parking garage at my company. Cars park next to it on both sides. So there is a daily "danger". Cars next to it are always the same, parking slot is painted but anyway! I don't feel myself very good when I see it!

3. Depends on color! On a light one like mine will be (silver) I don't think dark grey protector look good so better gonna buy color coded.
I mean I buy the protector and one of my mates will paint it for me and then I put it on the car (it's cheeper so!

)

right, but it's more than nothing... if it good for that that I don't worry that much then it's worth for the money

I seriously regret not having them fitted and will be getting some as soon as I can part with the money. I think they look best painted, but they are not so bad without as it is still inkeeping with the sills and wheel arches.

They are positioned so they are the furthest extremity of the door, so they must reduce the chances of a dent. I have none yet (knock on wood) but I am paranoid about parking in tight spaces.

They do not affect the contours of the car, they sit on the fold in the door anyway. I have the colour coded ones (didn't know you could get grey), and I think they actually add to the car, especially the front and rear bumper protectors, they sit on the corners and make it look a little more pointy, adds a more aggressive touch to the front, there are photos of the mine in the gallery somewhere if you want to have a search.

1 I think they will help, to be honest I haven't tried it yet. They are positioned a bit to low to protect the door against hitting the garagewall.

2 they don't spoil the lines, I've also admitted the bumperprotectors on the front and back. It looks awesome !!

3 Colour coded is the best, especially on the NHB

I have colour coded door protectors and I think they add to the look of the car. While I am sure they are not fullproof least I feel I have done all I can to minimise risk. They are expensive at £300 but I would be gutted to come back to a dent or chip that they could have saved. I had these fitted as part of the purchase deal. After a bit of huffing and puffing this clinched the deal.

Just a thought!

How are these things fixed to the doors etc?

Surely if it's just double sided tape or similar, they will get nicked in the car park by the guy who wouldn't pay the £300!
