Questions about my Civic.. pls advise

All,

I collected my new 1.8 ES manual on Jan 2nd. Absolutely delighted with it. However, I have a few questions wich I hope someone can help me with:

1. MPG
I am on my thrid full tank of petrol. For the first tank I calculated 38mpg but the car computer said 41mpg. why the difference??
On the second tank I calculated 40mpg (405 miles, 45.68 litres) and the car computer said 43mpg. Again, why the difference??? My calculations are correct. I am filling right to the brim from the same petrol pump each time and waiting until tank is nearly empty before refilling.
Also, my mpg is lower than that quoted by Honda. I presume it will increase in summer and once engine is run in.

2. Fuel filler cap
I have found that I need to pull the filler cap lever a number of times to get the cap to open. I might mention it to dealer if it continues to be a problem. Anyone else found this

3. Bassworks system
I got the baseworks upgrade and am delighted with it. However, the amp is fitted behind the dash so you can’t change the settings. Does anyone else find this strange??

Any help on these is very much appreciated

Delighted with the car. Its the first new car I have purchased. I always said I would never buy new but once I saw the new civy i was sold.

THe biggest proof of how good the civy is when my brother (a diehard golf fan) had to admit how good the car looks and drives.

Glad I bought the 1.8 too (except for paying excessive taxes to Mr Cowen for crap roads). I drove a friend's 1.4 but found it a bit wheezy.
