Because there are some moaners on this forum and whilst I can understand the owners frustrations at some problems there is no need to go on and on
to the point that the forum is starting to put prospective new owners off buying one of the best small family hatchbacks on sale in the UK today. Yes Honda has made Errors and Mistakes most of these problems have come about because of the all new design and electric systems. it is unfortunate that these problems sem to have affected a small proportion of '06 build cars - now that Honda seems to have rectified these problems with the '07 Build cars Honda customer services will hopefully sort themselves out and help the '06 owners who still have issues |

I love my Saffy Lexie, wouldn't swap her for anything
She's got to have a new fuel flap which is now on order, but she makes me smile every morning when i open the curtains, when i get in her to drive her....and when complete strangers come up to me and tell what a stunner she is and how much they would love one........... |

Blimey - looks like I've opened a can of worms. I'm not ignoring the fact that many of you have had issues, some more so than others, I was just looking for a positive thread really to reassure me I guess.
Sarahjo - Saffy is a great neame for your Civic. I think I may call mine Cherry! I hope to feel the same about mine as you do yours. I love cars and I love driving so fingers crossed!! |

I kind of agree with Brodick to an extent.
I have said this before and got flamed at the time, so I will don my flame retardant clothes and duck for cover now. A number of owners here have had problems, some more so than others. I have had my fair share, believe me. I can understand and like the fact that problems can be discussed on here, and we can discuss what is or isn't being done to fix them. To the most part, Honda are doing a great job putting things right for us. Then there's moaning and whinging. What good does it really do? It does not get things fixed, it does not help other people, it just does no good. What it does do is put off not only potential Civic buyers, but also owners who want to discuss their car and just read pages and pages of "Honda are rubbish, the Civic is rubbish, it's the worst car ever made, it has ruined my life, it's the end of the world...." I just don't see the benifit of slagging Honda off with every other post, and going out of their way to do so. If anybody is really that upset, why not put the effort into constructing a well thought out letter to Honda UK, or phoning them and see what they say. Surely that would be more productive? This is not meant to offend anybody, it's just how I feel when I look through these pages. |

Lexie, Czechplastik had it right in post No. 3- The beauty of a forum is that, to misquote P.J. O'Rourke and to lay myself wide open to the Flames of Wrath form Incensed Users, it gives every pi*sant an anthill to pi*s from (myself included, before anybody gets too hot under the collar...): Allow me to explain:
I work in the weird & wonderful world of Customer / Client Services- Clients contact us because they have problems (at best because they have a question)- Nobody ever contacts us spontaneously to congratulate and thank us for a wonderful service. This is normal! Ditto the forum: Now that most of us are owners, it is a great place to air grievances, if only to be reassured that We Are Not Alone. Additionally Honda may or may not read in at times, if they do they are obtaining valuable feedback, even if they do not acknowledge it- It may do some good... That being said, I have not yet come accross any vitriolic, absolutely-my-last-Honda posts here. Again, teething problems are normal in new cars. If we were to all be level-headed about it, none of us would have bought an '06 model, maybe not even an '07 model, but would have waited a year or three before buying (and thereby would have lost the impress-your-mates/neighbours/girl-boyfriend effect...) My 2 Euro-cents' worth... Maxbert Last edited by Maxbert; 22nd January 2007 at 19:57. |

Hi Lexie

I have said before that I would still buy the Civic again even though I have had my fair share of problems. I and several others have written well constructed letters to Honda they do not respond that is why I think people are getting so frustrated. |

People have a right to voice concerns and frustrations, as everyone has agreed, thats what forums are for! But we are all agreed the Civic is a fine car, and things will improve as time goes by. Most people with problems have had them fixed relatively easily.
