Hello, I have had my rear door dinged several times recently (suspect neighbours!) and have been looking at a replacement on ebay it has the same colour code, I wondered how well it might match being a year younger. Any thoughts?
if the dents are only door dings then they should be fixable if it hasn't damaged the paintwork underneath, the red paint will come off with a bit of rubbing compound then use a good pdr dent guy to fix the panel for around £60-£70 no painting required..
Yes whole door replacement seems a bit rash given the likelihood of it happening again. Ide go with Demi.babe on this one, would be a much more simpler for a start and at least u can be sure the colours all match up.
Wow for the main structure of the door to be bent, that must be some serious parking dings.
I think normally what people get is slight niks/dents in the outer panel from inconsiderate people marking next to you. These can be quite easily and cheaply fixed if the paint and clearcoay has not been ruptured. If it's completly buckled then ide get a specialist to look at it for advice then buy new doors if the price works out cheaper.
Of people are causing u that much damage, then ide suggest a real decent camera set up so u can start claiming of these mofo's insurance.
if you do end up replacing doors from past experience I'd say your better to collect and if possible to remove them yourself. I've bought a few doors online from breakers and pretty much every one was chipped along the bottom edge where they have been stood up on the ground.
Thanks for the replies, the paint has been damaged on one of the dents, a small bit has sort of chipped off at the deepest part of dent. From what i've seen on adverts for PDR sites the paint has to be intact.
A simple touch up pack followed by a good polish should fix your small paint problems.
