Accident Exchange

Well, that was a nice surprise. In the post has arrived complimentary membership of Accident Exchange, courtesy of Avonvale Honda in Coventry.

Hopefully I will never need their services but, in the event of having an accident (no matter who's at fault), Accident Exchange will:

i) Recover my damaged vehicle, take it to an approved body workshop and undertake full management of the repairs.

ii) Liaise with my insurance company and the other driver.

iii) Give me a courtesy car whilst mine is being repaired.

iv) Manage all the communication with my insurance company.

v) Recover all my uninsured losses should it transpire the accident was not my fault - e.g. my policy excess, hire charges, loss of earnings and injury compensation.

Wasn't that nice of my dealer to do that.

If your dealer hasn't given you this I suggest you buy your next car from Avonvale Honda in Coventry.

Must be a dealer wide thing - John Banks Honda sent me something similar this week too.

We got the honda accident aftercare card two days before we had an "incident" - great concept - but to date they have been rubbish and caused us more stress than if we had just dealt with our insurance company directly. The only thing they have managed to do correctly so far is to arrange a courtesy car(we have had to pay to insure it and had to fill it up with petrol!) Their communication has been appalling and they even "terminated our call" earlier today when we requested to speak to a supervisor. Boo.

rhoworth: wow, thats terrible. I would have thought they would have rolled out the red carpet for you. If youre saying its better to just do the insurance route directly, then I may decline this if im offered it as im collecting a new car Sept 23rd.

Noticed, some insurance policies give replacement cars as part of policy. No third party needed. I'll probably pay a bit more and get one of these!
