A favour and a tape measure please! :D

Having seen Caz's Type S photos, I'd like to run a quick test please - but I need your help

The Type S is supposed to have slightly (20mm) wider rear suspension that the 5 door, and the Type R is too, but with different suspension parts.

Could a few people please measure the following and post up the results?

Distance (in metres / cms / mms) between:
inside edges of the rear wheels (ie across the car)
outside edges of the rear wheels (ie as above but including the width of the 2 tyres)
Gap between top of rear tyre and bottom of the trim
Same gap, but front tyre.

please

I'll do mine tomorrow, with pics of what I'm on about (in case it's not clear from above)

Thank you!

caz - exactly what I was after thank you!

Mark - yep, that's why I went for inside and outside

didn't get to do mine today - I'm typing this from my sickbed as the cold bug my wife and daughter have been kindly looking after for the last few days has finally caught up with me

Well, does that confirm ** thoughts on the Type S having the wider settings?

Oh well there's always tomorrow (well later today)

It was pretty easy gaining the access to the inside track, especially with the other half lending a hand

and the news is....
Rear of car Outside tyre to tyre = 1720mm

Rear of car Inside tyre to tyre = 1300mm

Front & Rear bottom of arch trim to top of tyre = 55mm

now I might have been a few mil out on the outside measurement I guess, but yes, the inside is 20mm more on the S than the 5 door

My wheel arch gap is only 50mm not 55mm, but I have got about 11500 more miles on mine to let in settle
