Power folding wing mirrors

Just been to check my new car over before I collect it on Sunday, but as I sat in the drivers seat, I noticed where on earth is the switch for the power folding mirrors, oh there is the manual.... it doesn't have them, nooooooooo oh no, this is what I needed as I have a tiny gap that fits just with them tucked in. I did ask on here and looked through the Wiki and both said they come with them on the sport but mine doesn't!!!

Am I alone as I am gutted, I am going to have to walk round the car every day to make it fit in

Spec. change, I believe - the Sport once had it, but then didn't ? ...

Good news, though - it could be retro-fitted ! - at a cost ...

Ha yes I am sorry, I will do some mods for sure, hopefully order the sports grill I might be able to fit that myself, then the speakers hmm this may be difficult but I will try as well as the ipod kit (taking out the dash) argghh, I may then get round to the mirrors (but I think I rather pay someone)

I am not great at this sort of stuff but I suppose if you don't try you get no where.

Yes Neo you can, but you do need that special little button on the door to press.

Yes, they can - think it was "Gray52" who devised a little conversion kit - he (or whoever) sells it and it's apparently easy to fit ...

Look around, check out the 'Wiki' and the 'how tos' and try an overall search on "folding" ...

Found it ! ...

And, I'm expecting them to auto fold when I lock the car.

Type S GT has folding/heated mirrors, but you have to push the button manually - no great hardship though, I've got used to it.

I thought that if the button was pushed it meant they would auto-fold when the car was locked ...... !!!!!

I assume that the button 'latches' then? You push it and don't have to hold it down?

Not Auto-Folding is a bit disappointing and pants, to be honest.

Now, tell me that you can turn off the Auto Lights and Auto Wipers ...... please.

To be honest, I like the selectively folding mirrors ! - I live at the end of a very narrow road, with NO pavements and a low wall on both sides - there is barely enough romm for two cars to pass each other, and if the other driver isn't "hard-over", we'd strike the drivers' side mirrors, or I'd hit a tree or whatever on my passenger side (the mirrors are the widest part of the Civic) - I just press the button once (no need to hold it down) and hey pesto, problem solved ! ...

And yes, you can turn the Auto lights and wipers off, in the UK - in Scandinavia, even with Auto lights off, the daylight running lights are always on ...

Do the UK cars get daytime running lights?

I always run on my sidelights ... I guess I could do the same on the new Type S?

No 'DRL' in the UK - manual selection of lights or Auto - but, sidelights are really not any good when driving, unless you get the hi-power LED versions ...
