Boot mat/tray

Hello everyone

Picking up my 6 month old Civic this weekend, and I cant wait.

Just one question, I have a dog who will go in the boot. With my last car, the boot floor got covered in dog hair, which is very difficult to get out of the carpet. With this car, I want to try and keep it neat and tidy in the back.

I know you can buy from Honda a boot mat or a boot tray. I understand that the boot mat is literally a material mat that covers the boot floor, where as the boot tray is a non slip rubber kind of thing that covers the boot floor but also comes up the sides by about 5 inches. The other difference is about £30. Unfortunately, they dont have them in stock and so they have to be ordered, but I dont want to order one and find that it isnt right.

Does that all make sense.

Could anyone tell me if I am wrong in any of the above.

Also, if anyone has these items could they takes photos and out them up here so as I can see them before I order.

Thank you in advance.

Chris

I've been thinking about getting a boot mat lately so can I add a question to anyone who does have one: how does it work with regard to the underfloor cubby? Can you still get to it through the non-slip tray or do you have to lift the whole thing up?

Hey, good question, didnt think of that.

I would appreciate some help by Thursday as that is my deadline for my order for them to be at the garage for when I pick the car up.

i,m in the same position thinking about getting the boot mat as i have a dog and would like to keep it clean as well , but my dealer said any thing could be ordered after i pick the car up which is this thursday , what i have bought is a complete boot protection system from halfords for £20 should have been £30 odd , it goes in the bottom of the boot and up the back of the rear seats and as a flap to cover your bumpers when they jump in, not sure it fits properly but for £20 it will do for starters and can go in your washer ,have a look on halfords website .

will do ,if you look on the web site it looks like its in an estate car so may be too big ,but might be able to folded up to cover the sides as well, the wife as dog magazine and you can buy them in them but can be very expensive .

Boot Liner

I recently bought a boot liner from Roof Box Co, about £35 I think.
It is a semiflexible liner that goes over the top of the existing carpet and comes up about an 1"n around the edges. It is not anti slip, but you can get the antislpi mat from either Roof Box or Halfords.

As far as getting into the boot floor is concerned, no problem, the mat lifts up very easily due to it being flexible and then the floor lid comes up.

Hope this helps.

Bought mine from here, it's made of a thick rubber and is a good fit.

Got mine from there as well and I'm pleased with it. Would have been better if it had been the "tray" design, but it still works well.

I brought a boot tray for my 05 CTR 2 years ago. you are correct in what you say. fits boot space well, has anti slip surface, and the sides come up approx 5 inches. ideal for the dog! cant remember the price but i have no regrets in buying it. it is easily washable as well.

Does anyone know how well the standard HONDA "boot mat" (£35) fits into the boot. My dealer said it's just a rubbish square mat, but I'm sure I've seen a picture on her somewhere of someone's boot tray which fitted into the corners really well.

(bepee's mat link up there doesn't seem to work anymore).

I bought the official boot "tray" and dog guard and have to say both are very good, but expensive. It's still easy to get into the storage compartment because the tray is so flexible.

I started a previous thread on this, and someone posted photos -
