Mats for Civic

I'm really stupid and was concentrating on haggling and doing a deal on other bits and pieces and forgot to ask them to include mats for the car.

Have just asked if they're included, and he confirms they're not. Was told they're £60. SIXTY QUID!!! So, I'm picking it up tomorrow matless

Is this a right price?

Acccording to the brochure and the build your own car page on hondas web site, £60 IS the correct price. Although nice to have I'd rather have a spare wheel thrown in than the mats.

(my ex demo came with mats and no spare)

Mine must be having a laugh then I'm going to leave it as they don't seem to want me to have them cost. I'll just have to sulk when I pick it up!

I paid £1000 for the City Pack and they threw the carpets in for free.

got mine for free with a bit of haggling
beware the white civic logo on the front mats doesnt stay white for long though
i do vacuum the mats every week with the brush attached to the hose, i find it picks up all the little bits better that way ,rather than using it normally

My mats came free in the end, although it almost broke the deal...till I suggested they were idiots for throwing 19k down the drain over a set of mats that probably cost all of about 2quid to make!
Whar are these mats like anyway? I've only ever had aftermarket Halfords and the like before....

My main point here was to say that I'd kicked myself for not haggling and including them in the price in the first place. I got a few other things which I'm more pleased about, including my part exchange which was considerably more than any of the other three Honda dealers I'd visited beforehand.

I know that you can get them free if you haggle, but once you've shook hands on the deal, what can you do?

I think I'll have to buy them and fit them myself, but even forty odd quid sounds steep when I could have got them for free!

Anyway, at 4pm tomorrow, I pick up the car, so I shouldn't really let the mats spoil the fun (note to myself - forget the mats!!!)

Invalidusername, I was in the same boat as you haggling over all bits and pieces and on the day forgot to ask them to throw in the mats.
Anyway paid £47 for a set of black civic mats the other day and they are great, yup I know its more money but on a £18k car its peanuts.
Dont even think about it messing your mind up for £47, its not worth it, enjoy the drive of the civic instead with your new mats in.

Cheers mate. You're right, it's all relative pricing and I'll be spending money on a bottle of Champagne tomorrow night to toast the new arrival . Can't see me going long without mats!! If the dealer won't let me have them at cost, I'll go to another dealer and pay full price and fit them myself

Never had a Honda, and I can't wait to pick it up. Cheers for the words, mate

My civic mats cost £24.99 (then add £7.50 for postage) Go on ebay, search for bluegomax, then click honda down the right hand side of there shop, the civic mats will still probably still be the only honda mats they sell. I just recieved mine today, fit the car like a glove
