Question 7 Days Free Insurance

I will be getting a 7 day Free Insurance on my new Honda Civic when I pick her up within the next 10 days.

Which is quite handy if I can sell my car within 7 days.

Anyone taken advantage of this, what's the deal?

My purchase was spur of the moment so great idea.

Great .... I've been told I will get a refund when I switch to the Civic Type S Diesel (from my current insurers).

Just it's handy if I am still trying to sell my old car - as they are both covered.

Make sure you are eligible first. Day before delivery I was called and told I couldn't have complimentary insurance as I was under 25

I didn't have this problem (under 25) when I got mine in October last year.

But to get it they give you some details you enter on the Honda website and then they check a few things and then hey presto you are insured! That's all I really remember because at the time I was more concerned about getting my new car!!!

I took it so i could collect my Type R.
All you have to do is fill out a quotation form online and nominate the garage you want the cover note sent too.
After they quote you you are under no obligation to take out the insurance with them and they send the cover note on to the garage without any hastle.
And trust me you won't want too they quoted me more than double my current insurer Bell.

I'm with Bell at the moment ..... my current Insurance expires in December - so, it would be daft to cancel and go with whoever Honda use.

So, they ring you up the day before collection to make the arrangements?

Mine was sorted about a week in advance so I could drive away.

When that week expired I made the call to my current insurer and told them to double my existing insurance premium.

As said before it is an online form completion which is fairly simple.

I was in the Garage and they gave me the web address and i went online and filled it out i think they gave me a code as well so it went to the correct garage.
I think usualy you do it at the garage i was having problems cos my car was 6months old and being bought second had.
When the car arrived it had no log book so they couldn't get it taxed so i couln't take it away and give them my 2.2 civic trade in it ws all a bit of a mess but your buying new i assume so you shouldn't have the same problems i had.

Yes, new ... not worried if it takes a day or two to sort out, I'm not busting at the seams to get my hands on it. But, I will be if my old car sells quickly!

I used it even because it was easier and swapped my own insurance over when it expired. It worked out very well because I had an accident after 2 days and even when I told my own insurer it didn't effect my no claims.

I was forced to take the the free 7 day insurance out because the car was tax free. Although I had my own insurance from the day before pick-up so it was kinda double insured.

Also never had the problem of under 25 (was 18 when I picked up my 59 CTR).

I had the free 7 day even though I arranged mine to transfer at the same time. When my insurance came up for the renewal date, I had a call from Honda Happiness offering me a good deal to change to them from my current insurance at quite a saving. This was useful as I then got a quote from the IAM insurer who improved on the HH one so I went with them.
One of the selling points of the HH was that any repairs will be done by Honda repairers using all Honda parts.

Thats bull mate!!!! I have a CTR and im 24, i received the free 7 days insurance.

Im also getting in for free with a courtesy car this week when mine goes in to be mended.

Id kick up a fuss if i didnt get it, i know its somthing for nothing, but very handy to have for like others have said, shopping around for cheaper insurance

They changed the underwriters at the end of april which is why they would no longer provide 7 day insurance to young drivers. It wasn't only me some other new young CTR drivers on here got the same treatment.
