Rear view mirror
I've read a few topics on here where Honda could have made this car even better (if its possible) by paying just a tad more attention to detail.
After repacing my Megane with a Civic there is one thing I am really missing from the French heap and that is my auto-dimming rear view mirror. It was standard on the version I had (by no means top of the range - I had the Dynamique version) and I thought that the Honda would also have this as standard. I've been out driving at night a few times in the Civic and its a pain in the backside having to keep flipping the rear view mirror to stop glare from other cars blinding me. Not that this minor ommission detracts from the pleasure I get from driving my Civic, but its just that attention to detail which would taken this car from being excellent to absolutely outstanding. |

I was also a tad surprised at that also.
According to the Honda Accessories site there is a Dimming Mirror kit available though: Quote:

I thought the rear spoiler did a nice job of blocking out the headlights of cars behind, maybe the honda designers had thought because of the rear spoiler there was no need for an autodimming mirror as standard.
Although it probably depends on how tall you are on how well the spoiler blocks the light, I'm over 6ft so have no problem with it. Haven't needed to touch the mirror to flip it, unlike my last civic was flipping it all the time at night. |

I don't see any need for an auto dimming mirror, spoiler blocks out most of the glare for me. Certainly wouldn't be paying to fit one when all it takes is a flick of a finger to change it manually.

I;m finding that if the car behind keeps a good distance behind then yes the spoiler blocks the glare, but when you get the idiot right up your exhaust pipe the headlights come straight under the spoiler.
I fancy tinting the glass below the spoiler. |
