Angry reversing sensors

hi there just little nigglle i was revering my civic last week in a tight spot and put it into reverse but the bleeper and the disp-lay did not show anything when i just touched my wifes car but i was rolling back with the clutch in but i now find that they dont work when the clutch is all the way down only when it is patly up any one else have this prob also the auto wipers go from intermittent to full on eveen when there is little rain and will only stop when i turn them of and strt them again any ideas

Did you have reverse gear engaged?

This is required, but then they should work even with the clutch down.

hi i did have reverse engaged it just wont work unless the peddle is of he bottom

Reverse display? Mine only beeps at me and has never shown anything on the display? Mine is a 1.8 EX 08, Was never it was actually mean to display anything. I thought it was audio only?

Yes, at least on the face-lift models, you can see on the central display (the one for the board computer) the direction of the obstacles.

How can you tell if it is a facelift model?

Never thought there was a display option for that, then again only had the car for a short time

The time I've really used them I think it starts picking up at around 24" and seems to go 'continuous' (or 'flatline!') at about 10". Need to use it a bit more to be sure of its consistency, but it does also seem to detect objects about 8" to either side of the rear corners of the car too.

An 08 car is pre-facelift. The facelift is model year 2009 and forward. You can tell this by the VIN.
